CambrianExpress
When this was released well over a year ago, Hornby promised regular updates and new features. As far as I''m aware we are still on v1.05 and nothing new has been introduced. Can anyone (including Hornby) advise otherwise? Or is this going to be another HVR in that it will die-the-death due to lack of input/updates from Hornby?
DCCTinker
I'm on 1.07. Your Internet connection is either not working or your antivirus or firewall software are blocking the updates! Problem at your end, not Hornby's. I know that you can download the latest update manually from www.powerpos.com/track-master/tm_setup107.exe. This was posted on another thread here some time ago. nightjar
Sorry wanted to ask why are Hornby useing updates, that require antivirus or firewall to be turned off,(see DCCTinker post)there is no warning on the package, those items are put in place to safeguard the computor,i've turned mine off via security centre, and still have not located the 107 download, automatically,or via the powerpos site, DCCTinker wrote I know that you can download the latest update manually from www.powerpos.com/track-master/tm_setup107.exe. This was posted on another thread here some time ago. Try it see if you can locate it,manually.
Fishmanoz
This is just a precaution in case your antivirus or firewall are blocking the file from downloading. If that is going to be a problem, most decent antivirus programs will ask first if you want to allow the file to download or not. And also, if you have decent antivirus, it will have its own firewall so the Windows firewall should be turned off. But have you really written that full Powerpos link into your browser address and not had the program download? If not, you certainly have a connection problem as Tinker suggests. When i got the program to load on wednesday,it loaded 1.04 then it stated accept another download, and 1.05 was downloaded now if it does that why not 1.07 it strange,it does one and not other,
Fishmanoz
A clarification here - this is not a site where you find a button to click to get the download, this is the download itself. You should immediately be asked whether you want to run or save the file tm_setup107.exe. Of course you need to save it somewhere convenient where you can then go to it and right click it to run as administrator.

On running the program, it checks for updates, and the log file reports that the available version is 1.05. Perhaps 1.05 was the last version made available for general download? My clarification to my posting: The reason of posting what i posted, was because i am not getting the download itself(my posting says what i have on screen)it would be nice to have what you say i should have, I put www.powerpos.com/track-master/tm_setup107.exe in my search engine and i get what i get, not a download that i can accept or not, cannot understand why this not available as an automatic Hornby download following activation. Fishmanoz
Don't know whether it is just terminology but, you don't put it in your search engine, you put it in directly as the address in your browser and it should ask you if you want to run or save. Like I said before, save it.
nightjar
Ok really want to get this sorted, now i go on my home/browser page at the top, there is a box were i enter the www address,to the right of this box, there is a button marked search(this is on my comp yours may be different)i have to click on this, hence why i called it a search engine,i have tried not to,but nothing happens untill i do,it then brings up details as outlined in previous post, now could you please put the address in your browser, and relay exactly what is does today, not what it did before what it does now, please. RDS
@nightjar I suggest you should not click on the search button but when you have entered the address in the box, just press the ENTER key on your keyboard. That way it will (should!) load up the website you require.
Fishmanoz
Nightjar, just to satisfy you, I just copied the address. pasted it into my browser address window, hit enter as RDS correctly says, and it asked do I want to run or save, just like I told you previously. Fishmanoz
No web site ever comes up, just the confirmation on what you want to do, you don't use a search engine and you don't press search.
RDS
@Fishmanoz I agree and it was an unfortunate use of mine of the word 'website'. The important thing is pressing the ENTER key, this will load up the 'page?' required.
nightjar
Ok i can only thank you for your help and patience,i have tried what your suggestions are, they have not worked,so i will need to get this computor checked out by a savvy techie,i get the same results if i input in my browser www.hattons.co.uk it opens in a page were there are several links to open, and you click on your choice, same as if i want to visit rails of sheffield same thing happens, thats the kind of page i get when i request the 107 download. i know i shouldnt according to your systems,i can only relay what i get. LMSTim
It sounds to me as though you are putting the web address into the search bar of your browser rather than the URL address bar. You don't need to have your computer checked for something like that.
nightjar
I thought when first read, this is a windup message, but no its correct, although if you don't know were,or what,a URL address bar is,i have 4 bars, now this is the bar that is at the top of the page, what is the one below it by the favourites?,also i have another one to the top right of screen, and then of course you have the browser bar,the one i have been useing all along, anyway to cap it all i've now got version 107,all i got to do now is sort out the changes that i made prior to receiving the URL info,as you can see from this post it looks like some changes have happened it gone smaller print, thanks to those who stayed with me and sorted me the 107,THANKYOU

Augustus Caesar
nightjar... Just caught up with tis postand by the looks of it you have allowed several toolbars to be added to your browser which will confuse things if you don't know what they are or how they got there. Sometimes they are added by you downloading a program for free and not unchecking tick noxes that ask "Would you like to make such and such your home page and the blardy blar toolbar added to your browser?". Or a trojan or piece of spyware CAN and often does add these without permission. The address bar is always the text area that contains the address of the page you are looking at and is preceeded by, usually, http://www. etc etc Just so you know I know what I am talking about... I am a savvy techie of many years standing is this is actually my business. The other guys are right in what they have said... anyway... you got it sorted! :-)
