Derrick_W_Martin
Can anyone tell me why the new e-link system only has a 1 amp power supply? I model in "n" gauge and I would like to know how many trains and accessories can I run with this unit? If I buy the Hornby power booster unit how do I connect it to the e-link? Has anyone else got these problems?
Gregd99
I could not see it stated on the web site but as I the e-link is also compatible with the 4A transformer. see https://www.hornby.com/shop/digital/p9300-digital-15v-4-amp-transformer/ That would be the most cost effective way to increase the puff available to the track. A booster as you mention (https://www.hornby.com/shop/power-and-control/r8239-hornby-dcc-power-and-signal-booster/) is more expensive and has a relay function built in for the DCC signals. Fishmanoz
Clearly they used the 1Amp supply to keep the entry price down, just as they did with Select. It is still much cheaper to buy eLink plus the 4Amp than it is to buy Elite. And that is all you need to do. For most, buying a booster will be overkill.
