2e0dtoeric
Having read your question properly (blush) - I'd suggest - Drive towards trucks/carriages, brakes, stop short. Short toot, buffer up, couple, vacuum or steam pumps, shovel coal, safety valve, station-master whistle, train whistle, blow drain cocks, brakes off, move off with wheel squeals, close drain cocks, shovel coal, accelerate away. Have you enough fingers for all that? :-)
2e0dtoeric
Plan B, invest in a couple of dvd's of loco's and note what happens as they couple, uncouple, etc.
Fishmanoz
Do they still make DVDs? I'd suggest checking out YouTube.
