Fireman_Ian
I have been using Railmaster on Windows 8.1 for a few months with no issues.
HornbyRailMasterSupport
RailMaster has been tested and works on Windows 8.1 as it does on Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP all in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. On Windows 7/8 you need to ensure you have allowed Windows to download and install its own "Serial Port" driver. Do not use the Hornby-supplied one as that is only for Windows Vista or XP.

Graskie
Could you explain just a little bit more. Are you looking for the decoder number (ID) which should be automatically factory set as 03? In what respect are you referring to Any GWR R something, R being Hornby's prefix to its range of item numbers?

Fishmanoz
I think maybe we have 2 posters with 2 separate problems here, much easier if new questions are asked on new threads though. And I think the logged out anonymous poster (not your problem, it is a forum glitch) wants to know the R number of his loco rather than its default address of 003 so he can enter it unambiguously in his loco list in RM. If so, I think you need to search the RM loco list for the one that matches your loco description.
