Mertmat
Hi everyone,I'm still having problems with my eLink. Looking at my log file it looks like the initial comms works ok, the firewall is off, as is AV. Any ideas?Response: (0)29/07/14 19:15:10 First file of updates list: LICENCE.EN29/07/14 19:15:10 Checking need for: LICENCE.EN (Size=7759 Date=2/5/2013)29/07/14 19:15:10 Installed size=7759 installed date=7/22/201329/07/14 19:15:10 No need to download LICENCE.EN29/07/14 19:15:10 Checking need for: LANGUAGE.MDB (Size=524288 Date=7/11/2014)29/07/14 19:15:10 Installed size=524288 installed date=7/29/201429/07/14 19:15:10 No need to download LANGUAGE.MDB29/07/14 19:15:10 Checking need for: HHGUIDE_EN.PDF (Size=5385812 Date=9/1/2013)29/07/14 19:15:10 Installed size=4409719 installed date=12/4/201329/07/14 19:15:10 Downloading: HHGUIDE_EN.PDF (Size=5385812)29/07/14 19:15:35 Downloaded successfully29/07/14 19:15:35 Successfully deleted prior to updating: C:Program FilesRailMasterHhguide_en.pdf29/07/14 19:15:35 Successfully decompressed to C:Program FilesRailMasterHhguide_en.pdf29/07/14 19:15:35 Set the file date to 7/29/2014 7:15:35 PM29/07/14 19:15:35 Confirmed file date as: Hhguide_en.pdf29/07/14 19:15:35 Nothing to do29/07/14 19:15:35 Starting communications with: Hornby eLink on Com529/07/14 19:15:35 Settings: 115200, None, 8, 129/07/14 19:15:35 Current Com port status=False29/07/14 19:15:35 Setting and opening com port: 529/07/14 19:15:36 Successfully opened Com port29/07/14 19:15:36 Com port status=True29/07/14 19:15:36 Preparing eLink handshake (Port status=True)29/07/14 19:15:36 Resetting eLink prior to handshaking (Port status=True)29/07/14 19:16:40 Closed com port to eLink29/07/14 19:16:54 Reopening com port to eLink29/07/14 19:16:56 Initiating handshake with eLink (Port open=True)
Fishmanoz
You seem to have stunned everyone with your detail Mertmat. Two thoughts for you though. Have you checked in Device Manager that the driver shows as being com 5. Whatever it is in Device Manager, you must put that in RM Setup. Ask RM Support for assistance by emailing from in the RM Help window. You don't need to give them the log.txt detail as this is sent to them when you email. And make sure you are running as administrator and your AV detail as you put here as these will be the first 2 questions they ask you.

paul_mackay
Hi dgibert2, Yes I did....after much hair tugging the problem ended up being my power supply. I live in the US and had ordered the 4 amp, US 110v transformer (confirmed to work by the US Hornby supplier) and although it would power up the unit etc, it wouldn't initialise properly. I ended up using a very old power invertor that I had from my move over and hey presto first time ! I was a little peeved to be honest but also elated that I finally got my trains to operate. Thanks for asking. Paul
