Peteboy
Why does select controller cut out for about 2 seconds and then restart
96RAF
Overload usually. Does it do it when disconnected from the track.

I think I have narrowed it down to mallard locomotive as two other locos run and it does not cut out but mallard on its own cuts it out.
2e0dtoeric
Does this happen anywhere around the track, or just in one spot?Maybe a set of points?Look very closely at this spot, as the loco goes over it very slowly. Can you see anything with the wheels that might be causing it?It might be wheel back-to-back that is slightly out, or a whisker of wire you missed, that is touching somewhere as this particular loco goes over it. Fishmanoz
No, not the transformer. Apart from anything, it should run 4 locos. At least modern locos are any older and converted to DCC? But try running 3 slowly then gradually increase speed. If they run on slow for a long period but you get a cutout when they go fast, it's a possibility, particularly if any are older.
