John Irwing
Another classic from years gone bye which attracts a premium on E Bay. And if being cheeky can it come with some decals for a Washington ?
Garry Drummond
Like the Wellington, there are better, more modern kits of the B-29 available. Much as I loved the Airfix B-29 I madein the 1960s when it was the only B-29 kit around, time has moved on, and Superfortresses are available from other manufacturers with more modern features. Russ1707821018
There's one other kit of the B-29 in 1/72 and it's by Academy. It was first released about 20 years ago. More importantly, it doesn't make any money for Airfix.
Danny1707817913
It's a fair comment about there being other B-29's available but is there a certain apeal of a "classic" Airfix? Especially if its possible to produce it with Washington markings! That's a great shout!

Especially if its possible to produce it with Washington markings! That's a great shout! I agree. If it is a classic, why not make it slightly more unique than other producters? Possibly a better interior, better detail on the tail, wings etc...
Ratch
Barry, the point abut Kitstarter is to use the original moulds with no changes. Not new toolings or changes, but as they were (subject to condition).
