samstrains
I have just received this as a gift and it clicks when it goes round our layout and will stop and start every now and again. There seems to be a small chip inside the body but we are not sure if it is a decoder chip.Has anybody come across a similar problem.
Southernman777
Hi Sam,I have two Merchant Navy Class locos - one green and one blue. They both run sweetly & smoothly and will each pull 12 - coach trains with ease. So if yours has a click and stops now and again I suggest you (or the person who brought you the lovely gift) takes it back to the shop to see what's wrong. If you start messing around with a new faulty loco you might not be in a position to return it?Warm regards,
poliss
Turn the loco upside down and examine the connecting rods. They could be catching on something.Did whoever bought it for you get a gift receipt?
samstrains
To polissThank you very much, the chassis was bent and caching on a bolt that was holding the wheel in place, I have now fixed the problem and it is running fine. Thanks again Sam. Southernman777
Great, enjoy. I find The Hornby MN Class locos fantastic and very powerful. Looks great pulling a rake of Pullman cars or a steam special. (I try to model the 1970 / 80s but like other stuff too).Best regards,
