DocDC
I've set up Hornby Layout 7 (Oval with two crossover loops) but even with no engine on the track my Select controller simply continuously clicks alternating between two unreadable partial digital characters on the display and no train runs. All is fine when I disconnect BOTH the track limbs connecting the small oval on the right of the layout, which run more or less across the width of the layout.Any ideas? bocaj
When The Select does this it usualy means you have a shor circit, Im not sure how to fix this as the only time it ocurs on my layout is when something derails and causes a break in the circit.Hope this helps,Jacob
poliss
I don't have the Hornby track plans book. Do you have a photobucket account you can upload the pics to? Sounds like the track layout has caused a short circuit. Are you using more than one power clip/track or feeds?

You were correct it was a short circuit. Turns out the circuit (one from the current Hornby layout book) has 2 reverse loops - customer help at Hornby were quick to reply and identify this and gave me advice on using an isolated section with a ReverseLoop Module (x2!).
