chrisr390
Hi.I have a tri-ang jinty with a smoke unit fitted. It worked fine up until recently but the little piece of board at the front of the unit what holds the contact plate to the element is broken. How can i fix this so the unit works again??Thanks
Southernman777
Chris,Hi, any chance of loading a photo or link of the damaged area. It's hard, for me and perhaps others, to recommend the best action without some visual. There are a number of changes to the Jinty over the years too.Best regards,
The son of Triangman
You need part number X.561 Element Contact with plate and lead. Easily found at toy and train fairs and on a certain online auction site
The son of Triangman
The current 1978-current jinty doesn't have such a nicety as a smoke unit alas
Blackbird
The smoke generators fitted to Triang, now Hornby model locos are manufactured by Suethe, still available. Try Express models
The son of Triangman
The Seuthe units are almost identical to the early Tri-ang smoke units but later Tri-ang smoke units were much different using the Syncrosmoke method with a large casting, wadding, element and piston assembly.
