knownothing
I am sure that someone will tell me that I am being stupid but here is my problem. Using my Select everytime I change a point with a R044 lever I get a momentary short which makes the Select recycle as at startup. Using suggestions from other forume entries I pulled up my track and fitted Insulated Royal Joiners. Problem still there. Then wired in a brand new points motor and not connected in any other way to the track, still had the problem. Wired up the15v supply to my old Hornby 900 and all of the points work perfectly. Can someone please tell me what the H**L I am doing wrong or will I have to use an alternative 15v supply?
poliss
What power supply do you have for the Select? The 1amp or 4amp?I would use a seperate power supply for point motors anyway.
Rog RJ
The standard 1 Amp powers supply that comes with the Select is just not sufficiently powerful to operate point motors directly. As Poliss has suggested, use another power supply or include a CDU in the supply to the points or upgrade to the 4 Amp power supply or operate the points by using an accessory decoder

poliss
Even with the 4 Amp supply it can still cause a brief interruption of power when point motors are switched.
