Hi folks, I have a really old Scalextric GT40, from the late sixties, which was one of the very first high powered slot cars made at the time by Scalextric. I recently updated the GT40 to operate on my digital track, which all went well. However, now it looks like the motor bearings are worn, as its progress around the track is vey 'clunky', not smooth at all. I have looked around the various spares sites, but cannot locate a motor that looks anything like mine. The rear axle, including the crown gear, bolts to the motor assembly with 2 x screws. The motor itself locates in the chassis with a 5mm diameter spigot that clips into the chassis horseshow at the front. The rear is secured by the rear axle, which the motor is bolted to. The length of the motor, without the rear axle is 24mm, and its thickness (height) is 16.2mm. The solder connections are top and bottom, as opposed to both being at the same level, like most of the newer motors on the sites. Any ideas / help welcomed on locating a suitable replacement motor, or other fix. Jim
