hi all just an update on this topic, according to Kenable Ltd , a normal 2.0 cable should work fine using the 3.2 socket without need of an adapter. Unfortunately I am away from home for a few days so I haven't had any chance to try this. I will give an update asap on my return best regards steamfreak

Dear All i have recently had to purchase a new hornby elite as the programming track outputs gave up on my original elite. My idea is to use the new one to control track and the original to control accessories. i am using a dell inspiron 15 - 3511 pc. but the problem i have is that the pc only has one type 2.0 usb port. it also has 2 usb 3.2 sockets but i cannot seem to find a suitable 3.2 cable with a d shape to fit into the second elite. the manual says dont use a hub so am i asking for the impossible? any help would be most welcome regards steamfreak

Hi RAF69 and paul after a brief test this morning, I am pleased to report the following ;- using the elite on its own i read values on several cv's using elite and railmaster, changing the box to read 1 to 255 ,I started to get multiple reading of cv's. As it would have taken over one hour to read all 255 I exited after approx 40 were read I think with your helpful assistance the problem is solved best regards steamfreak

HI I had already changed the box to read cv 1 to 29, that is when i discovered it was only reading cv1. i will try the sequence again but it will have to be tomorrow. regards steamfreak

Hi RAF I am using the Elite with railmaster to read the cv's. Loco is on the programming track. My question really should be why does it only read CV1and no others. regards steamfreak

Hi all I have recently had to purchase a new Elite as the old one was beyond repair, On arrival I disconnected the old one and replaced it with the new, nothing else was changed. It works fine on loco and points control but when i tried to read cv's, it reads cv1 only. Have I done something wrong or could the new unit be faulty regards steamfreak

Hi all Having tested it ,all appears well. I have still no idea why it suddenly started working. As far as I know I always used the same port. It remains a complete mystery to me. I'm just pleased it now works. once again many thanks for the help and advice best regards steamfreak
