  1. Best place to look for track is on Facebook Marketplace: I just did exactly what you've done: tried to resurrect old track and then gave up and bought a few partial sets off Facebook. I got my whole layout for about £30 by just combining random incomplete sets people were selling cheap.
  2. Thought I'd say hi and upload a picture of my layout. Just returned to Scalextric after finding a bag of old classic track in the loft - a quick clean and polish...and...I gave it all away and spent a couple of weeks buying cheap sport track kits off Facebook market place and this is the result! Great fun for me and the kids. I spent a lot of time tweaking the layout and, with the crossovers, it's now almost perfectly equal between the two lanes for a 10 second lap time. I hacked a couple of optical sensors into the track and I'm reading them from a USB development kit I had left over from another project: the computer you can see is running a race timer I wrote in visual basic. Still got a lot of fine tuning to do, and I'm sure I'll be asking for lots of advice, but for now I'm enjoying the track and very happy to have (re)joined this hobby. /media/tinymce_upload/735f1edc49ef33903dd4cb728c9e75ef.jpg
