  1. I went down to Margate yesterday and had a great time at the Hornby factory! Thanks guys, a great experience and a really great sausage roll! And in the shop I discovered the acrylic dropper bottles. Now I am no expert so asked the assistant if they needed to be thinned for airbrush? He said they did not, they are airbrush ready. In fact there is an airbrush symbol on the bottle with a tick next to it which suggests this is correct. However, having bought a couple of bottles, and having shaken them as instructed, the paint comes out like toothpaste. That's not going to find it's way out of my airbrush! So was the assistant correct and the paint is faulty? Or did the assistant make a mistake and it's not airbrush ready? Thanks
  2. Hello I am currently making the Bentley car and have just removed the first bits of chrome from the sprues. Where they have broken away I can see the grey plastic underneath. Now, I have bought some chrome paint but it's turned out to be what I would call dark silver. Is there any paint that is actually bright chrome like the pieces supplied, or a technique to achieve the bright chrome effect? Thanks in advance, Geoff
  3. Out of curiosity, why can I not get this in acrylic? Is it because it is a satin finish?
  4. Hello. After many years I'm back to modelling in my retirement but it seems things have moved on. My first model to do is the Airfix Bentley. Now it's a lot of green and I did plan to airbrush it on. However, I have seen that Humbrol now do acrylic spray paint. I appreciate that the colour range is not so great but per ml, it's a lot cheaper it seems. So that might be advantageous. But can anyone advise me of pluses and minuses when comparing the Humbrol spray vs airbrushing Humbrol acrylic? Cheers Geoff
