I used the Peco Double Slip at my previous residence where space was at a premium. At my current place I've got plenty of room so in my current layout I've discarded the double slip in favour of 2 y-points single end to single end. Things you might want to consider about the Peco Double Switch: 1. The whole lot is live. This would be a problem with DC if the crossing tracks were on different controllers. I can't comment if DCC. 2. The geometry is a bit off. Neither the Peco nor Hornby short curves end up parallel, so a bit of track cutting could be required. 3. Using Chris' diagram on the previous page: To traverse from A to C, point CD must be set to accommodate the arrival direction by being pushed to the D side point AB is set to accommodate the departure direction by being pushed to side B. To traverse from A to D, point CD must be set to accommodate the arrival direction by being pushed to the D side point AB is set to accommodate the departure direction by being pushed to side A.

Flying Scotsman. Seems to be running out of puff. Did Liverpool - Brisbane in 36hrs, but Brisbane - Gordonvale took 68hrs.
