  1. Apologies. Senior moments, not selecting the decoder after the scan so off course nothing would happen. All working fine updates completed and King profile downloaded.
  2. I have tried removing the app and re installing it as well as resetting the decoder. All to no avail. Runs on DCC and can change cvs. Both the Bluetooth app on the tablet and HMDCC app recognise the decoder but will not pair. I did get a message on my tablet saying "incorrect pin or passkey". I have emailed technical services at Hornby.
  3. Went for a Lenovo Tab M10 brand new. Needed a new tablet anyway as some apps could not be updated and stopped working. When I went to link my new tablet to the HM7000 decoder it recognised it but would not link/pair. I have unassigned the decoder on my old tablet, even removed the app. Any help please. I can run the loco in DCC mode by changing CV12 to 0.
  4. Hornby customer services have confirmed my tablet to old to be fully compatible with HM7000. So the fact that you can download the app is no guarantee of full compatibility. Looks like I will have buy a new tablet!
  5. I have emailed technical services.
  6. I have a Lenovo Tablet TB3B running Android 5.1. It is 7 to 8 years old. I have downloaded the HM7000 app. I have linked it to an 8 pin sound decoder. When setting it up the Bluetooth update failed. I am however able to operate the loco including all the sound functions, change CVs. operate on DCC. I have retried the update but no success. I tried to change the profile but on selecting the app closed and I had to reopen it. Cannot download a new profile. Does this suggest the tablet is not fully compatible?
  7. Apologies Chrissaf for not responding sooner. Once I read your reply I realised it was the obvious way to sort it out. Thanks. The answer was not to power the DR4024 until after Railmaster boots up. Thanks again.
  8. Now that the dust has settled on the recent upgrade to the handheld app, lets review the changes. Yes the app is more responsive, the throttle works slightly better but overall the app is still clunky. I am comparing it to Engine Driver app for Android which is FREE. Hornby Handheld app Engine Driver Throttle not smooth Throttle very responsive Moves several speed step at a time Can move 0ne speed step at a time Does not respomd to touch immediately Immediate response to touch Have to pay a licence fee Free from Android play store On a phone only one loco can be controlled Several locomotives on same screen Works specifically with Railmaster Does not work with Railmaster Come on Hornby and HRMS lets have something worth paying for. The Engine Driver app come with a Webb based test set up so you can see how well it works without needing to connect it to a command station or other software.
  9. I have checked the "Ping" which averages over 170ms. HRMS says this should be below 40ms so regretably I will use Railmaster for point and signal control and JMRI/Train driver for loco control, two bus circuits, until either the app becomes a proper android app or works better.
  10. refering to my post on page 4, extract below: "1) The throttle control on the android app is still not very smooth and does not always respond to touch. I am comparing it to Engine driver proper android app and JMRI. The throttle3 control on engine driver is very responsive and smooth. 2) F key operation should work one of the ways: a) Latched - press key and function turns on, press again and function turns off. b) Press and release key and function runs for preset time in decoder. c) press and hold key and function runs until released." I have received a very comprhensive reply from HRMS. HRMS have tested the throttle control extensively and do not beleive there is an issue. They have asked me carry out a ping test and confirm that I am running the latest RM software on PC and Anmdroid device, which I am. They have responed that the ping is poor so I need to investigate further as is causing the unresponsive issue. They confirm that 2a) and 2b) work with RM as I indicated but that 2c) is currently not suported by RM but will be considered for a future update.
  11. I was just about to post when I saw that version 1.70.1 was released. Updated to that version. Not changed anything I am going to post about. I am very disappointed in this update and the Android 1.23 update. 1) The throttle control on the android app is still not very smooth and does not always respond to touch. I am comparing it to Engine driver proper android app and JMRI. The throttle3 control on engine driver is very responsive and smooth. 2) F key operation should work one of the ways: a) Latched - press key and function turns on, press again and function turns off. b) Press and release key and function runs for preset time in decoder. c) press and hold key and function runs until released. This last variant is not available with Railmaster. More recent sound decoders have the ability to use "active braking", short press of function key slow slow down. Long press and locomotive stops more quickly. Certain horn sounds play as long as the function key is pressed. I also note that the 1.70 guide still list only 25 as maximum function not the 28 now available. There are other updates not described. HRMS need to read the manual from cover to cover and update all the relevant information
  12. RDS Re posts 278 & 299. These can be marked "Not technically possible" as a result of HMRS comments above. Re post 324 Here in more detail. On a small tablet when in portrait mode be able to choose whether throttle only or plan only.
  13. Would like the option with small tablet to choose throttle rather than plan when held in portrait. Abilitiy to select any scale for plan on PC, eg 60%.
