  1. It would appear to me so far with this topic, is that, basically, this hobby ia a retirement home whereby a lot of us will be on our permanent holidays over the next  5-10years, and it's a strong possibilty that this hobby will become really niche.

I'm not too sure how this issue can be resolved as there aren't in reality a lot of different types of engines / trains being designed or around minus the heritage stuff.

It's a bit like cars they are now becoming all much of a muchness.

  2. coming upto 61, wife asked what you want doing with this lot when you go on your long term holidays, suggested she gave them to the grandson as thats the only way he will be able to get a grip on this hobby.

  3. "Just purchased off ebay the Hornby Marks & Spencer Evening Star set from 2004.  It's my birthday present from the wife and daughter.

What's incredible is, the set has not been opened!  It is still sealed and has the sticker warning to "Do Not Break This Seal Unless You Intend To Keep This Set".  I like the cufflinks, too!

My thinking is to be the one to open it up and run it on my layout!  That's what it was made for, right?"

depends whether you think your James May, would appear your beginning to doubt if you should
