  5. thanks for your help ,but as i have been playing with modle railways sinch 7 years old , and now at 83 ,i still have lot of pleasure ,and have about 50 wagons and and a lot of carriages, it will give me no end of pleasure doing as you have said, and it solved my problem of wagons jumping of the track, thanks again badgers
  6. have just realished that wheels on triang wagones are slightly different too the hornby oo wagons if this is so can any one tell me if it is possiable too change them for hornby ones i notice that hornby size is 26.6 ,and triang must be bigger, had problems keeping wagons on track,and as i have a lot of old triangle, same too not too be able too use them ,advice too cahnge them would help please just started too install chips in my engines and advacing slowly thanks

I do have an Elite controller which is what I use and also the one previous to it but neither will work the old type points. but have now gone back to working the old type points with, with the Hornby switch system, the Elite works my remodelled chip engines, but I will use the decoders for lights and such, but thanks for your help.

Hi back for some more help, my layout is struggling, have old type point type motors, and old type points, all work fine with old type switches, but when I tried to use a R8247 decoder in the system, problems and had to return to old system, can this be that the new system decoders will not work with them, would be pleased if anyone can help Mod note: Post edited to combine two separate but related Badger's posts into one question.   12. hi sorry about the delay, but thank you for your help, will work on that what both of you have said, one thing I can not find out is what is the size of cable to use, have ended up with various sizes, but is there a guide to different sizes anywhere and what part to use them on.
  13. hi DI hi back again, help fitted two r8247 point decoders, but after fitting , cannot get them to work ?. RUN PROGRAMMES AS PER ELITE manual, but been on youtube and after you program is , there is more, now i am total confused,1. will it work with old type points,or only with new ones, stripped back too one point and one unit, but still no joy.

  15. Hi, can anyone advise me on how to test a motor that has got a chip on it. Got an 040 old tank and it looks like the motor is down, and are they hard to replace for spares.
