Or is it just me? I posted a not dissimilar question a year or two ago I have built a number of the Airfix new releases in the past year and despite dry assembly, fettling, filing, sanding & lots of patience, good assembly [minimal filler] appears to be getting more difficult. From the Blenheim 1 & 1V, Defiant, Wildcat, Gladiator, Beaufort to the latest project the Typhoon. Assembly of internal cockpit, engine & wheel well detail needs to be undertaken with care to minimise joint gaps. I have recently built a number of Airfix releases from the 70’s & 80’s, allowing for inaccuracies & a lack of detail, correctable with `after market’ components, the fit of the fuselage & wings is better! With the limited run Czech kits, one expects to have to work hard, particularly with PE & resin components. After much trepidation my recent Azur Vickers Vilderbeest build was relatively trouble free. I often feel that there is too much internal detail which will not be seen on a 1/72 model. Any advice & views?
