  1. Step 27 lists part D25 as optional, but gives no indication what it is, or in what circumstances it should or should not be fitted. Presumably someone at Airfix knows, so why not give us a hint in the instructions.
  2. In the process of placing an order for £32 worth of kits (qualifying for free shipping) I selected to use 400reward points to get £4 off. Luckily I noticed that the website had now re-added shipping of £3.95 and rapidly unticked the reward point box. Spend 400points and save 5p, I don't think so.
  3. The point is, if the instructions for a new release say that a particular stand is available separately then it should be.
  4. My Scouts built the Sopwith Camel set back in 2020. The kit is certainly showing its age (I remember my father building it when I was a child and I'm now 65), with the fit being awful. As a scheme to encourage young people into modelling it was a very poor choice of kit.
  5. So the DH Castor canadensis or Castor fiber is really a banned word, but we can get away with ball turret (and indeed cockpit). It seems that sexism rules even in mindless computer rules.
  6. Any idea what has happened to the Hawker Tempest? I have it saved in my wish list, but clicking on it just returns my profile. Searching for Hawker Tempest on the site in general brings up lots of Hawker aircraft, but no Tempest.
  7. Wright Flyer 1, Bleriot XI, and perhaps British Army Aeroplane No. 1 (Cody 1).
  8. I'm having the same problem, what did they say? "The ComMods raised this issue with Hornby around 5:55pm this evening. We got a reply back at 6:10pm. It seems this pop-up is an interim arrangement implemented at short notice to meet legal 'cookie' requirements. We have been advised that a more permanent technical solution is in the pipeline to replace it. Hopefully one that is less annoying and irritating [i.e one that doesn't keep jumping up and down]. So please be patient and persevere with it for the time being. As a legal requirement, the web page code that generates it is written in such a way that it cannot be blocked or disabled at local browser level. To be honest I was surprised it took so long for anybody to post about it. I expected this thread (or similar) to be started much earlier."
  9. When I submitted this I got the attached error. Once it came back response times seem better./media/tinymce_upload/9090e68cd2485930bf2056a929006fc2.gif
  10. Is it just me, or are the response times for the website in general, and the forums in particular, bad at the moment. Each click seems to take over 10s to produce a response.
  11. It might be worth experimenting on something disposable first (eg a cheap new build).
  12. So am I correct in assuming the discount is no longer part of the membership package with the re-launched club? Also, have the required number of flying hours increased? There is no mention of a discount on product page for the club, although the description at the top of the club forum page still lists it as a benefit! I wonderl how long it will take for this to be corrected.
  13. Only 23 days to go, or am I being naive? /media/tinymce_upload/16c652d26ec96862862b0338d91d5959.jpg
  14. Perhaps if you could come up with a simple questionaire (i.e. that will fit in a post here) you may be able to gather some statistics about the membership of this forum from its members, I'm sure many would be happy to help.
  15. "Over 300 kits" according to that complaints slip. A quck count on the website (simply adding the total at the bottom of each category page i.e not ignoring out of stock and double counting items which appear in more than on category - eg starter kits) gets to about 187.
