  1. Ah this is all turning into a minefield.

    might cancel all my orders.

thanks for letting us know. I really wanted lights in the pullmans.

Might just go buy some stuff seperate.

  2. Cheers Roger, an oval track would make more sense looking at track pack 1. But is it 6 straights included as listed? Or just 2, which again would make more sense given the contents of track pack 1.

I have ordered a set, if it arrives with less parts than listed, do you complain, ask for money back or demand the extra track?

bit shoddy once again from Hornby.

  3. Am I missing something, or have the sets not listed what’s included correctly?

The info seems to be incorrect. Should a turnout not be listed within one of the sets? Otherwise why do they include a 6th radius curve? The 6 straights listed in the sets makes track pack 1 appear confusing? Or does track pack 1 just provide you with some spare straight pieces, and possibly a turnout?

Track pack 2 listing also lists 3x 1st radius curves. Should this not be 3x Straights

  4. Plummed for a set and some extra track pieces. Seems the best value for money.

time to sell off my 00 stuff. Never really managed to get a permanent setup due to size constraints. The TT seems perfect for me and has dragged me back in.

  5. With 00, the sets were of railroad standard. So most people if looking for advice were advised not to buy the sets as they weren’t value for money and were better off buying what they needed separate.

For TT, is buying a set the best way to start off?

are the loco’s the same standard in the sets as they are sold seperate?

  6. I understand mistakes can be made. But I only posted 1 example, more are available. Remember not all of us are completely obsessed with slot cars and are members of x forum or x site. This is THE OFFICIAL scalextric site. The info should be correct. Do they want people to buy their products? And having made websites myself, this being a new website doesn't cover amateur lazy work. Especially weeks of it. It's not a complicated site either. If you're going through the trouble of uploading a product, surely you'd put the correct info up with it? Is their no pride in peoples work anymore?

Anyway, this wasn't intended as a rant. I just hate seeing things poorly implemented especially as someone looking to buy. Puts you off.

  7. Hi,

As the title suggest it's rather confusing when buying cars, and possibly other items too. As the official website for your products you would think you would list all relevant information on a product. But you don't. It's misleading and then makes me doubt about other purchases if the information is correct or not. How am I supposed to buy the correct product?

    For an example:

    https://uk.scalextric.com/products/mclaren-f1-gtr-lemans-1995-bba-competition-c4159

This listing appears fine. Showing all the Tech Specs. DPR, Lights, High Detail etc.

Now take a look at this:

    https://uk.scalextric.com/products/btcc-anniversary-special-edition-ford-sierra-rs500-robb-gravett-c3781se?

Well, at least it tells me it's DPR.

No mention if it has working lights or not. You would auto assume that it doesn't if the information is to be trusted. However taking a look at the image and box of the car. You can see the logo's for front lights, xenon effect, rear lights and so on.

So, is the image correct or the Tech Specs?

This made things more frustrating as I looked for a Formula E style car to work with my ARC PRO setup. But can I trust the listing. It appears the 2 on sale are analogue cars. That's a shame.

Something for the webmaster to look at I'm sure. All the correct info should be available for every product. It really doesn't make the company look a bit amateurish.

  8. Agreed, although I'm very new and slow it's no problem when racing. But I don't like how the lights can flicker or the stutter made by the cars, say when going slow under yellow flag etc.

It's not a biggy, so may not do the fix and I'll learn to ignore it.

  9. Ah yes found my answer, thank you.

It appears, as I thought, this is a well known problem with people trying various fixes. The so called flipper dead spot.

The fix supplies power to the flipper.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link or not...

  10. Not a major problem as such, just wondering if there are any mods people do to the straight line lane change track to improve performance. Not on the actual lane changing ability, the ability to deliver the power.

At present on slow speed the cars always do a slight stutter going over the lane change track, given the layout of the track it is kinda expected. However when calibrating cars for slow speed laps at end of rces for example, they can sometimes get stuck going over these. I know you can just up the speed but still. Do people carry out any small mods/improvements to improve connection to the cars across the track?

  11. Thanks for all that. Much appreciated.

So I'm guesing that sets will come with the Super resistant Slot Cars. Which will probably be which I'll want anyway. Maybe in time I would aquire the odd high detail ones.

I think the best way to start is different to model trains and a set is best way to go. Then I'll add track to make my desired layout. Then obviously the odd slot car.

    Thanks very much
