  1. Is it possible to permanently move the "Touch screen" and "Mouse" icons to the bottom of the screen so they are there on start-up? They currently hide part of my track plan and I can move them on screen but they return to their original locations when re-starting. Regards Martin
  2. Brilliant Thanks Paul and RAF great advice and response once again. Regards Martin
  3. Thanks All Sounds like the GM500D is the best and most cost effective option. As I'm running miniature LED's and have several crossover points, is there a current(mA) limit on the number of signals I can change using a single GM500D? i.e. Put a program together where several points are changed for a particular route using a single GM500D for signalling, I could then plan serveral routes employing a specific GM500D for each route rather than one for each set of points and keep the cost down. (couldn't find any current (mA) data in the pdf Paul linked or by trawling the web for tech specs)
  4. Having re-organised my points accessory decoders, I am now looking at adding 2 aspect signals. The manual suggests I can wire these to the solenoids (page 80) but I thought the points were driven by a short burst voltage from the controller. I want to add red and green LED’s for the signal but these would require a constant (switchable) supply voltage. Does anyone have a circuit diagram of how to consolidate the signals with the points without adding a separate decoder?
  5. Chris was pure gold, look at the detail in this historic response....
  6. Found it in settings. Thanks all
  7. Hi RAF Can't see the reference in the manual, is that in track planning or settings options?
  8. Thanks Roger Is it possible to remove the default points number so they can be replaced with Labels?
  9. Hi RAF the cable upgrade did the trick. Thanks for the support. Padders
  10. Thanks Paul, already read that. Fine if you adding labels but I wanted to change the font size of the default points numbers. Doesn't seem to have an option for that in track planning.
  11. Is it possible to increase the font size for the decoder points id’s on screen? I’m finding it difficult to see them specifically the difference between 5’s an 6’s. Eyes are getting old🙁
  12. Thanks RAF, standard 3 core is a bit bulky for the number of points I have. (36 increasing to 44) I got a track plan of Paddington from a mate who works for a rail company and have copied the points layout from that up to platform 10, hence so many points and wiring.
  13. Thanks Paul I wire directly to the solenoids so wiring orientation is the same. when I fire both solenoids I get a kick in the solenoid but not enough the fully throw the points. The telephone cable I use is multi-strand extension cable. But I suspect this is still not sufficient, will order some 20swg cable and see if that works. Thanks
  14. Hi After reading an ealier post on Tawcraft controllers and a need to add more points, I have attempted to connect 2 Peco or Hornby points solenoids to a single output on a Tawcrafts CDU controller. In most cases this has worked fine, however I have 2 pairs of points that struggle to switch over, if at all. They seem to work in one direction but refuse to switch back. I am allowing 10 seconds between switching to let the CDU recharge. I have replaced the points (N-gauge setrack 80) and the solenoids. I have also tried them on the output from a different controller all to no avail. The solenoids seem to operate fine if disconnected from the points. The only thing I haven't replaced is the wiring from the controller to the solenoids. (need to order some more wire) Historically I have used 4 core telephone wire and not had an issue, but I'm wondering if this is limiting the current for 2 sets of ponts and the solenoinds are not kicking hard enough. Any thoughts or experiences appreciated. Martin
  15. Thanks all, sounds a bit complex, I think i'll look at GM seep motors as an option to replace Peco. I have an N gauge layout of Paddington which requires a lot of points to switch between 10 platforms and the GM option seems the most economical with the smaller profile. Just need to ensure the R8247 can drive them as Peco struggle a bit.
