  1. i had same issue the other day trying to post a link to ukworkshop for M-R, using FF and Linux, tried multiple times in the end posted a non live text, may or may not be related but FF has had a recent update prior to this, and as far as  i can tell had no problems prior to the update, as i think i have published the same link sometime in the past,

  2. Railway Modeller did a spread on Rod's layout, a few years ago, you can see images if you google rod stewart model railway, he has 6ft high skyscrapers, huge bridges,

  3. Rod Stewart, has a 1500 sq ft layout, he was on This Morning today, and said when he was on tour he had flight cases with his stuff in so he could do his modelling in the hotel room in between performances, the hotels even provided extractor fans to ventilate the paint fumes,

  4. Whether one would be affected by it or not I do not know. But what about someone with a 'pacemaker' fitted or other delicate electronic medical aids fitted under the skin. Surely, it is best to play safe.

maybe so Chris, but as it's only me that will use it, i have got into the habit of discharging when done,

anyway it is only like a tens machine, but with a bit more punch, one belt a day keeps your fingers tingling  😆

  5. A used Polaroid Cube has just reached me, for taking cab-view videos of the layout.   I didn't buy the Plus version as I didn't need the wi-fi feature and the spec. of the standard version is close to the Plus, I have read. (We'll see ! 🤔 ).  Also the price I paid -- £15 post free- was much more to my liking.   The first video clip seems good, in moderately poor light.   So I am now wrestling with the problem of which free software to convert .mov ( Quicktime) to .wmv or mp4 if I am to put anything on YouTube.    Would be grateful for any suggestions using Windows, please.

Hi Jim, i have just got one of these myself, i use the stream/convert feature of VLC, it's free software to download, also when you plug in the cube to your pc, access the contents of the sd card and you will find a polaroid cube EXE file, open it and you can get access to the camera settings, change the lighting to 50hz instead of the default 60hz, and that should solve most of the lighting problems,HTH,

  7. @dynax

Had you thought about employing MJT carriage compensation units?

Hi Caiptean, I have looked at them, but for me it's not worth it, the ones i'm doing are only a rough copy and not meant to be an exact replica, not only that i'm having more fun doing my own bit of engineering than getting stuff off the shelf, thanks for the link though it may help someone else,

  8. a quick update, 1st photo shows a flanged nut which acts as a stabiliser to stop the rocking motion, 2nd photo after first visit to the paint shop, 3rd photo is the central bogie and i have decided to have them fixed rather than a drop in fit, 4th photo shows the wheels and axle converted to a live axle with a little bit of solder,
