Two for the price of one, view of my layout and a new addition to my collection.

Hi, that particular Hst, was produced as a train pack, R2045. There were two variations, one was made in UK and other later issue made in China. Produced 1997 to 2005, hence why UK versions around.
It also appeared in train sets R1023 and R1011. Production run was from 1999 to 2005.

Just arrived from America, R801 Old Time Coach, Green Pullman Livery, running number 257. Production run of 5000 units in 1967. All coaches were sent to North America, hence were not sold in the UK.Comes in as new, unrun condition, in correct ATT box. Seldom seen for sale in UK, a very rare item. I now have all 5 versions of the Old Time Coach.

One for RT, found this while tidying my odds n sods box. Not very good condition, probably why I did not put it on display with others.

Hi RT, I have never seen a green clockwork with decals.There is a picture of one in Story of Rovex Vol. 1 page 166 thougth.
I have examples of the geen electric version with and without decals.

Recently bought, probably a preproduction or sample.
Several differences between this model and the final release, can any hawk-eyed members spot them. Not opened model but weight is right, althoutgh seller said there is no motor in loco, certainly not one in tender.
Model was released as R3080 NRM Ltd. Ed. in 2011.
If anyone is interested will start a new thread with detailed photos of this model and the normal released version.

Hi AN, Br. Ex LNER teak coaches were also sold via concession outlets,as well as on line. The full set were R4598. R4599, R4600, R4601 and R4602. also different numbered ones came in Train Packs R2906 and R2981. The Br. teaks are slightly darker teak colour to the LNER ones. Ramsey guide described them as weathered.

Hi, R1153 was the cheaper less detailed version of the class 395. Hornby produced a coach R4438 in the Railroad range, but it does not have the square pictographs on the sides.

Hi Will, do you have any problems with the loading gauge, or do you not have any tunnels or bridges?
Did you buy the full train pack with maroon Coronation in, or did you buy it loose?

Hi Mandy, most of the tenders used in the Hornby Thomas range were the old school tenders.
James also used the old school tender.
Later version thought did have two wires connecting the loco and tender.
Even thought the tender is a schools one I am not sure if internal components are the same.
Others on the website may be able to assist if you can swop internal components from early Hornby School class tenders.
I also notice that the both rear tenders wheels have no traction tyres fitted.
As viewed from from underneath the rear wheel on the right should have a tyre.

Recently moved my layout to my local railway club, still working on the wiring, but for an open day took some of my pacifics.Unfortunately did not have time to put southerns on show. Built shelves at at rear to take 200 locos.

Hi Bobby, Blue FS is in set R1082, the M & S premier set. Also produced, R3627, as a solo model. Later model is slightly different from the early set example.

Hi Bobby, also came in R2906, Rare Bird pack. Livery was BRb Express Blue,with LNER teak coaches. Research needed if it pulled The Flying Scotsman.
Hornby also produced it in BRc Green, R2203, but as a solo model.

Hi Bobby, as it is GB made, I would think it is a renumbered loco. Two candidates are R140 Tranquill or R2036 St Frusquin. Both date from 1996 and 1997,both are BRa purple blue experimental livery, both limited edition mail order locos.
Note tenders are the Great Northern design, the one with rails round the top.

Hi, checked the R1230 set, coach number is 42250, there is no coach letter on the coach.
As mentioned it is a less detailed coach than the normal GWR solo coaches. Paint finish is also matt compared to the normal gloss finish.Couplings on the train set coach are the older broad coupling, solo coaches have NEM couplings. I compared trainset coach with R4781H TSO Coach.

Another bought from America, produced by Triang in 1967, only made for 1 year. All bulk packed and sent to ATT in America. Note the different name on coach side, Central Pacific.
Blue fitted seats, also NMRA couplings factory fitted.

The Colman livery on the Holden tank is non-authentic. Only one example of the loco was made, and it never left Swindon yard.
In my opinion it would not bother me If wagons also were non-authentic.

Hi Mallard, although not a box van, Hornby produced a 7 plank wagon in Colman’s livery
R6345, R6345A and in a pack R6450.
If non available on internet, mainline and Wren produced one years ago.

Hi Anglia998, I stopped collecting new released Hornby locos in 2019, so cannot comment on locos produced since then.
I have noted 2 perhaps three missing entries.
R080 produced 1993 Sp. Ed. Of 200. Other locos have same R number. Never seen one.
R3099 produced 2011 / 14, same as R3081 but no. Certificate.
R9098 Thomas range, produced 2005 / 07, with face.
