  1. Hi, anyone done some simple conversions with Airfix 1/32nd soldiers/figures? Some of easiest jobs are doing a different paint scheme for different theatres eg: the British 8th Army set could be painted in jungle green for Burma. Also the German Paras set can be painted in light beige tropical uniform for service in North Africa and the Mediterranean areas. There are other more challenging conversions animating the figures or changing the head dress or adding extra equipment parts maybe from the previously issued Airfix WW2 multi-pose series depending on your modelling skills. The backpacks in particular can be added to a basic figure to give a more accurate depiction. If Airfix released accessories sets with backpacks, entrenching tools, extra weapory etc.. it would be ideal for adding to the basic figures.
  2. Thanks Grouchy was nice figure to make and paint. I am currently working on 3 x mounted French 9th Line Lancers in their transitional very gaudy colourful uniform of about 1812-13 green kurtka jacket with yellow facings, red czapka head dress plus red trousers. I read they were originally dragoons from Hamburg taken into the French line. Will post photo when done
  3. 1/32nd Waterloo series solid plastic figures : British Infantry 1815 (can be painted as Belgian Infantry in blue or Belgian Jagers in green uniforms) Highlanders 1815 (42nd, 78th,79th, 92nd Regts) French Imperial Guard Grenadiers (can be painted as Dutch Grenadiers in white uniform and others) French Line Infantry (can be painted as Irish Regt in green or Swiss Regts in red uniforms) there are loads of other paint schemes to apply to depict other units and also good conversion ideas too with head or shako swaps etc...
