  1. Hello all, I’ve purchased a Lima MK3 Intercity Pullman Coach, not realising it was a Lima, but the wheels and bogie set aren’t in great condition. Is it possible to swap out both bogies for a set of Hornby MK3 coach bogies and if so will the 14.1mm Hornby wheels make it too tall as the Lima has 12mm wheels? Many thanks in advance for any help.
  2. The humming noise, on slow speeds or starting, seems to be normal for the current basic controllers. I have a couple of older controllers to negate this. Interestingly enough Youtuber Sams Trains did a comparison of controllers, see the link here: If you skip forward to about the 10 minute mark you'll hear the humming.
  3. Hello all I'm hoping someone can help. A while ago I bought an unboxed Intercity 125, Class 43 powered and dummy units (R069). I knew it wasn't working when I bought it and I've stripped down the power bogie to give it a good clean etc. There were 2 brass collars around the axels but I seem to have lost one of them and I can't see any reference to them on the service sheet. Does anyone know the part number and what purpose they serve? Many thanks

  5. Hello all, I've noticed on my Hornby Railways Intercity 225 set that there is a letter L in what looks like a clock face on the packaging. Can anyone tell me what it means? I'm guessing it means the train is supposed to run in an anti-clockwise direction. thanks
