  1. Hi all Calling Liberator experts, what have I got to do to the new release to turnit into 'J' varient? Just seen some nice decals for a Suffolk UK based a/c in natural metal as opposed to the problematic and drab "olive drab" colour Thanks in anticipation. P.S. Very good article in AMW.
  2. Hi all Humbrol 90 seems more blue than green and is not on the Humbrol chart my LMS gave me. Thanks in anticipation
  3. What are the chances of Airfix releasing a 1/72 F1a Lightning? I don't mean a Classic rerelease of the ancient F1a, rather a new tool. I had a look at the current F2a it does not seem to lend itself to being reboxed as an F1a because wing shape, under belly fuel tank and vertical tail fin are all different.
  4. Yes, it would be great i Airfix produced a new tool GR1 with multiple weapons load and all the letters of the alphabet plus multiple squadron crests. This would give it some edge over the Japanese and German competition that are exceptionally good. The pointy-nose Airfix release of the '70s should be consigned to the metal recycling yard. Decal sheet I liked though.
  5. Well what an interesting thread this has turned out to be even though the theme was the restricted variant that could be made from the new mosquito. Thus for those who want a ‘normal’ mosquito we have to, unnecessarily, spend extra on after-market adaption kits. I stress ‘unnecessarily because the list of earlier Airfix kits that catered for two or more variants is too long to list. Though the Airfix P-61 Black Widow does deserve a mention. The inclusion/omission of a gun Coppola determining the variant. Leaving restricted choices to one side, I noticed that the Kent Battle of Britain Museum, Hawkinge had several of the new mosquito in stock in their gift shop.
  6. Correct on both accounts! What about Revell which is also sold locally?
  7. Looking at loads of photos of bulged-bomb bay mosquitos, I don't think 2mm will work. I just have to resign myself to extra cost and invest in the Freightdog PR.XVI part. Though my 1970s decals should be restored with my charity shop UV light, should stop the project becoming unreasonably expensive.
  8. Hi all. Kit instructions call for 122, but stockist tell me it's discontinued. Suggestions welcome Thanks in anticipation
  9. My FG.1 does not contain a 'frame' 'H' I can understand the undercarriage I'm using stages 81b and 83b. Not sure which parts you are referring to in "blanks for the catapult spool parts? Is this stage 43 and 44? I'm using C6 and C7?
  10. heart_eyesThanks peebeep, Thanks Ken
  11. I don't get any pleasure in this post . Airfix should have guessed this would happen. With the imminent release of the new Airfix 1/72 DH Mosquito B.XVI kit, I am pleased to announce that Freightdog have six resin sets due for release very soon, with more to follow. Masters are finished, with thanks to Airfix for early access to test shots. Sets under preparation include conversions for the B.IX, PR.IX, PR.XVI, PR.32, PR.34 and B.35. Images of test castings to follow soon.
  12. Yes, announcement on Facebook. unnecessary extra expense if you ask me.
  13. Very nice! Airfix attempted scale thickness wings. So accurate kit but slanting verticle tail plane.
