  1. Hmmm...not so sure. Here is the second video I saw of the loco drive failing. Go to 12:30 Its not great is it? I have the full sound/steam version on order and TBH this isnt inspiring confidence. What dos Hornby say about the connection and bent running plate issues?
  2. Thanks for both comprehensive replies. My main issue is incredibly tight space which thse 2x X404 will solve. I have 2x them working on a DC (dont ask - it's an evolution) part of my layout however they are fed by a CDU unit and conseqently, as you imply, work correctly. Your confirmation on this has no led me to looking to source a DCC Concepts decoder with built in CDU. I can then move onto powering up the Fleischmann turnouts on my German DCC section but having gone through this will use a dedicated power supply into the ESU SP's. Thanks again
  3. Replying to the OP, here is the preserved list which may be of interest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preserved_British_Pullman_carriages Conversely, does anyone know where there may be a list of all the Hornby Pullmans produced? Thanks
  4. Now that Bachmann have produce the lovely H1 and H2 Atlantics, does anyone / Hornby know if they can do a new run of the 12-wheel Pullmans o make up the Southern Belle set? The cars are there as featured in the Bournemouth Belle now long gone...
  5. Apologies for a slight thread hijack but...re the Hornby Gresly non-corridor and / or Thompson non-vestibile both in teak. I am trying to find information on how they ran in formations on branch lines eg behind an L1, B1 or B17. And would Thompsons and Gresleys have been in the same formation. Thanks for any comments / links / pics
