  1. But as I mentioned, in the Future Phases announcement last July(?) the 9F and the Class 60 were no longer mentioned as being in Phases 3 and 4, and the 57xx and J94 were 'promoted'. That part of the catalogue just looks like a cut-and-paste of the original catalogue to me but like I said who knows?
  2. AFAIAA there isn't even a date for the Class 37 yet - and we've seen CAD and 3d prints for that - so the 9F is presumably a fair way off. And add to that the fact that in the 'Future Phases' announcement (almost a year ago now), the 9F and the Class 60 were moved back in favour of the 57xx and the J94 then that also points to it being a bit of a wait. That change is understandable because I think they really need more small locos (both steam and diesel). However I'm a bit biased as I'd rather see the Class 31! Although with the announcement of the J50 they've demonstrated that they're prepared to change the previous plans, so who knows? One thing I found interesting is that the list of upcoming TT:120 Sound Profiles that are listed on Page 27 of the new catalogue are all diesel: Classes 37, 31, 47, 60, 67, 73, 800 !
  3. Thanks for posting those - a great set of photos. It was a clever idea to photograph the cards with the release dates on them. And I liked the video clips best of all - a real taste of what's to come.
  4. Good point! I think that may have happened to me, too, as my TTA orders are still 'Pending' and no charges to my card yet. But given that I've made loads of purchases on a newer card since placing my TTA orders (8th Feb last year!) I was assuming that my new card details would have been transferred to my previous orders... maybe I was hoping for too much... There must be quite a few people in the same position I would think.
  5. IIRC the 21T minerals were supposed to be the first 'modern' wagons to be released in January last year along with the Class 08s before the TTAs and HAAs
  6. These are all great points. I was just looking through the dates in the shop and the analogue InterCity Executive HSTs are "Expected Winter 2023-24", which is the same as the TTAs so you'd have thought that those might have got a mention. But then if they told us everything in this episode then they wouldn't have any news to give us in the next one so I guess they want to give out information a bit at a time rather than all at once.
  7. My two pence-worth is that there won't be any Club exclusives until all the current free memberships (and therefore 15% discount) runs out and people have started paying for their membership. I also think that any 'surprise' will not be something previously unannounced - not even a re-livery of and existing product like a green 08 or a new wagon livery. Hornby don't seem to have sufficient production capacity for things that they've already announced, never mind throwing something new into the mix. That's also another reason why I don't think there will be Club exclusives any time soon. And if Hornby were to suddenly release something completely new then it would be instantly 'collectable' and there would be a total buying frenzy with many, many people missing out and being disappointed - just think of the social media response to that! I tend to think that the 'surprise' will be the early release of something we're already expecting. In the latest TT Talk there was no mention at all of the Class 66, Class 50, HSTs or Duchess and I'm hoping that the 'surprise' will be that one of these will be released before Christmas and therefore earlier than the current shop estimate. Notably the 66s and the 50s are not available with sound options so it will be easier to get all the pre-orders for these out in a single shipment in time for Christmas (that's assuming they can make enough of them) without a wait of weeks or months for the sound versions. And fulfilling pre-orders would be a nice way to 'reward' people who have committed money to TT:120 rather than just having a first-come-first-served buying frenzy for some completely new and previously-unannounced product. But maybe I'm hoping for too much with that one!
  8. Hi @Going Spare - it looks like you are right and the online catalogue is still version 04_10_22_V2. I guess @Fishmanoz downloaded this version (unless he has access to something more recent) so I guess the contents description of Track Pack 1 has always been correct in the catalogue! I was going by the contents description of Track Pack 1 in the online shop - I didn't think to look in the catalogue, but even if I had I would probably have assumed both would be the same. And I'm guessing here but I'd assume that many people will use the online shop descriptions when they order, rather than opening either the paper or the electronic catalogues. And given that the online shop is where most of the orders will be placed (apart from the occasional telephone order) then that is the one place where the product descriptions really should be correct.
  9. Same here! DEC (the Digital Equipment Corporation), its PDP computers and RSX operating system don't even exist any more...! These young 'uns don't know they're born...!
  10. Thanks @Fishmanoz - and thanks for the tip about the new brochure, I didn't realise it had been reissued so I'll be downloading a new one shortly. Hopefully the Online Shop's contents description (which is what I was using) will catch up soon.
  11. Hi @DS According to My Profile, my joining date was: Joined Date:April 12th 2011 I'm guessing that nicknames and unique user names were not a thing back in 2011! However, thanks for the post - I've figured it out (I hope!) and also managed to add an avatar. It doesn't seem to be working yet but I'll try logging out and logging in again. Cheers, Neil. EDIT: It seems to be working now!
  12. Modelling for me is part nostalgia. I will take inspiration from other plans but in the end it will be my layout. Hi @dBerriff - I just realised what you're saying here and I agree - although I guess some people might like to have a layout pre-designed to give them something to aim towards gradually, adding each Track Pack as modelling time and finances allow. And for me I'm not using the Track Packs to achieve the layout proposed for the Track Packs, I'm just using them for the parts. I'm going to be buying three Track Pack 1s to use as a small end-to-end loop-and-headshunt shunting layout, hence why I was interested in knowing whether buffer stops were included, and thanks to your idea about zooming in on the picture of the pack I can now order them.
  13. Modelling for me is part nostalgia. I will take inspiration from other plans but in the end it will be my layout.I hate tight curves for passenger trains - and that is all you can get at the moment. TT:120 means that in the space I have, and with what I get in the Easterner set, I do not have to go below third-radius curves with Hornby track, not even for the points. I agree with you about the tight curves - flexi should be out soon which should solve the problem for anyone with sufficient space. Unfortunately I don't have much space and tight curves is all I'd end up with so instead I'm going for something straight (end-to-end) and with a small footprint so that I have a chance of finishing it. Good luck with your layout. It sounds like it will give you something interesting to operate plus it should be achievable and give you plenty of opportunity to practise scenics.
  14. Hi @Dodge, I was just trying to explain that (for me) I was happy to wait for the Track Packs to become available - I wasn't trying to persuade you one way or the other with regards to ordering. Everyone has their own way of doing things. As to a layout, I'm just going for a simple shunting plank to start with. Something along the lines of an Inglenook that contains a runaround - basically just a loop and headshunt. I won't try and post a picture because I just tried that and the post disappeared - I don't know for sure but I guess all images have to be moderated before they appear. I guess the same may happen if I try to post a website url. So if you google Carl Arendt's website (that is: carendt[dot]com) then you will find the kind of thing I'm thinking of on Page 69 of the website - it is headed "OPERATING A TYMESAVER LIKE AN INGLENOOK" (I guess you could also try googling that phrase - note the "Y" in TYMESAVER). Something small because I don't have much space available plus it is nice and simple so I stand a chance of finishing it! And good luck to you with whatever layout you are planning. I find Anyrail is very useful for planning - it very easy to learn and free to use for up to 50 track pieces and it means you don't need to buy stuff to try things out (other track planning software is available!). You do, however, need a computer - there isn't a phone or tablet version available AFAIAA. Cheers, Neil.
  15. Hi @dodge - I just tried listening again to the last "TT:120 Talk" because I seemed to remember that they had said something about a release date for the Track Packs but I couldn't find any further information. I think they might have said that they have everything in the warehouse waiting to be released but I got a bit distracted at some points during the video. I haven't ordered any Track Packs yet because I'm still waiting on my Class 08 and the wagons that I ordered a while back. I'm guessing the Track Packs will be released around the end of this month when the next shipment arrives that will contain more sets and the 08s (I think) and more rolling stock. I'm happy to wait until the Track Packs are eventually released (rather than buying the individual pieces) but thanks to @dBerriff's excellent idea of zooming in on the illustration of the Track Pack 1 box I think I'm going to order my three Track Pack 1s later today!
