  2. Hi , thanks for the reply so quickly ok ,thats what I suspected since i could not find this Restore function But ive got to say this , in the Transfer Railmaster I printed out from the forum at the beginning , it clearly states : "if you have the pro pack you can then simply restore all files saved earlier automatically using the restore function " Iwill do what you suggest as there is no other way , please let this be my last time as this computer is new and should last me out Finally is there any other files you would recommend i transfer while i'm at it regards and thanks steve
  3. hi Put simply I have changed computers and reloaded all my product keys I backed up my files to a stick via the "pro " tool and plugged it into new computer and dont know what next On the " about " screen i just get ,back up button I dont know where else to go I have changed computers a couple of times before and this , restore , wasnt available as the computers had died ,it would be nice not to have to start again ,again ? regards steve
  4. Hi I would love to know more about TGG please sounds like just the job ! I got my pr4 interface , but am now waiting for loconet cable which is different to a expressnet cable which I have apparently loconet has 6 wires and express net only 4 so I guess loconet can be used on expressnet ,but exressnet can’t be used on loconet I have lots of those rare 20 pound notes ,they are just about dry regards steve
  5. Hi i ve heard about some sort of update in December ,and presumed ( never presume ) that it would be about hm7000 decoder series , which seems to be the cutting edge at the moment ,and possible accessory decoders and software via Bluetooth for use on mobile devices . Since railmaster has been out a long time , what we’ve got is what we’re gonna get apart from bug fixes . The hand held system works well as long as your wi fi is good , I had to get a booster ( loft) but I’ve always had issues with connecting to e link when flashing up , seems to lose the driver when I shut down , i sometimes have to dump the driver and restart the computer the hm 7000 decoders work from your phone or tablet ,which means to operate accessories ,turnouts lights etc ,some sort of layout map on your device would be advantageous like the handheld rm so you don’t have to remember them I have touchscreen computer and tried to download the Dcc hm7000 app , I have 5 decoders ,no chance ! Windows didn’t like that either I have downloaded the evaluation software for i train and having a go at understanding it ,found it doesn’t really work with Hornby hardware , haven’t tried it though ,still configuring it ,the blokes voice on the training you tube videos puts me to sleep , and there are 104 ,too complicated I think . sorry this a bit long but my situation now is to get this i train up and running whilst loading RM onto the new computer in case I don’t like Itrain I have also ordered a Digitrax interface PS4. Some 84 quid including postage , so I’m a bit committed regards steve
  6. Is there is any progress in Railmaster being installed with block detection software it would be great to run trains etc fully automatic regards steve
  7. Hello steve here again I had another careful look at the security stuff on my laptop especially windows there now appears to be 3 firewalls in the defender area i switched them all off then downloaded the software from your new( to me ) help area at the beginning of this forum subject ,no problem ,then simply switched them all on again Happy days are here again thanks
  8. Hi steve here i too am having problems downloading a copy of railmaster I have been using railmaster for a number of years and have always had problems mainly due to windows overzealous protection software , usually got round by downloading it with a different browser ie Firefox . I bought a new laptop especially for using railmaster Equipped with a touchscreen and the latest windows 11 I thought it would be great , but alas no matter what I try , I can’t get it downloaded I tried the NZ version as suggested by someone , i have tried Chrome and Firefox I even tried deleting the virus software and turning off windows “ unknown publisher “ block I have it on another windows eleven computer , so I know I succeeded , but I would like to use both , if that is even possible I have moved into the hm 7000 decoders which are great but don’t do accessories …….. yet . Can any body help I have runout of ideas
  9. Hi just read your replies and thanks for replying , Your mention of the time in the .init file has given me an idea I did alter the time originally when I first set it up cos it was stopping in between tracks I had slowed the motor down which I’d driven via a loco decoder cos it was noisy plastic gears , pretty tacky for the price since I only use it to turn locos round 180 degrees , i will find out how long it takes to go halfway round and set the time to that so that 1 click will do what I want my original post was to see if there had been any improvements , obviously not , and I’m not buying another to see if they’ve changed the design ,they are almost 100 pounds alternatively I might try and make one thanks
  10. Hi your right the graphics are a bit “ clunky “ and could be improved There are 12 tracks on the icon , 3 in each corner , whereas the turntable has 14 , which is where the problem lies . If your just going 1 or 2 tracks it’s workable . But when your using it for 180 turn rounds 6 clicks will take it half way round on the screen but not physically , because half way round is 7 on the actual turntable I have never really done anything about it , just fiddling till it’s back in sync again I was hoping by now ( I had it over 2 years ) someone would have solved the problem
  11. hi having picked the wrong section once ,I hope I have hit the right one this time For years I have had the problem of my Hornby turntable getting out of synch because of differences in the number of physical tracks to the graphic tracks on the Railmaster screen icon Is there any way to fix this or do i just chuck it in that bin and go somewhere else ? I have been using RM for years now and although it checks for updates every time I flash it up , their never seems to be any , yet when I reloaded it due to computer failure , it was a newer version
  12. Hi yes your right , it is railmaster ,I don’t know where I got trackmaster from must be something else I have seen somewhere i will repost in the railmaster section ,
  13. I have put up with it for years , but today have decided to find out why the Hornby turntable has a different number of tracks to the Hornby trackmaster program and consequently gets out of sync every time Also when clicking any number of tracks , sometimes it goes left and sometimes right randomly , which causes myself to ignore it and pick the loco up in frustration. i tried to search Hornby turntable in the forum and got a load of unrelated posts. regards
  14. hi so with these signals , they can be operated to stop on rm screen only and there is no feedback as such from the lights to screen , which is how my points are operated ,i can only tell by the noise of operation that they have shifted i guess the IR sensor is connected where the rm signal would be on the ds type thanks for your help time to set them up again very expensive for what they do
  15. Hi again and thanks for the remarkably prompt replies. You have clarified my situation on what i was doing wrong. I have one more question : Should the icon on the rm track screen follow the actions of the actual signals? As you presumed I have been placing signals on an uninterrupted length of track of about 4 metres.
