  1. The picture of R7295 on Amazon is a pretty good interpretation of a crofters home, The picture on the Hornby site is nothing like a traditional crofters home. I have the remains of a home on my croft and the rendition of the one on amazon is pretty good. I have ordered one from Amazon which should arrive on Friday so I can let you know if you wish, Regards, Ard.
  2. If a centre switch panel is desired then the simple solution is to run a common negative to the panel then only a single wire to each one thus reducing the amount of wires............
  3. Is there a quicker way of moving a loco up in the list, I have just added a new loco number 27 that is at the bottom of the list and it would require 90 odd pushes of the move loco up in the list to get it to where it needs to be? Thanks in anticipation, Regards, Ard.
  4. I have two NCE Powercabs and do not have any problem programming loco adresses, The only problem with the powercab is that you can only program on the main track. There are a couple of solutions the first being is to use a seperate piece of track with an isolation switch so that you isolate the main track. The other solution is an atomatic NCE swich that when programming the main track is unaffected. The NCE switch costs about £30.00 and is available in the UK. NCE 5240226, Regards, Neil.
  5. Thanks all I have finally got it, All this chemotherapy has affected my brain cells, I have good days and bad ones and today was a bad one, Cheers Ars.
  6. Sorry, I am aware how to convert it, I will rephrase the question, Will the magnet cause a problem?
  7. I have a N15 Hornby Sir Dinadan with Magnahesion, Is it OK to convert to DCC? Input gratefully recieved, Ard.
  8. That worked a treat, Thank you for the Info, Ard.
  9. I have a R2984 Network Rail locomotive that needs a new circuit board, The replacment board X9873 has been superceeded to a board with the same part number but the connections are now a multiplug whereas the original had solder tags. So presumably I would need the wiring harness to suit but the big question is are they available? Plan B would be to hard wire in a decoder but do to my now lack of dexterity I would rather not, Suggestions gratefully recieved........
  10. If I knew then what I know now I would not have bought the 96 hornby points at a cost of over £1000.00 and yes they are flat with extra screws in the middle and droppers wired to the bus, Express points on the mainlines and short ones in the fiddle yards. If I had my way I would send half of them back as being unfit for service......
  11. I `think` that I may have one as the loco I had the mainframe had terminal mazak rot, Now I am very unwell at this time with the big C, But will go upstairs and see if I can find it as soon as I feel a bit better. If I have one you are welcome to it FOC, I will let you know as soon as I can, Ard.
  12. I used black laminate floor underlay that comes on a roll, It has good sound deadening properties, is easy to cut and you can use PVA on it for ballasting. I roll is more than enough for an 8x4 layout, Got mine from Homebase and was about £18 o roll. Stuck to the baseboard with PVA so it does not move about, Cheers, A
  13. It is an early Hornby Zero 1 Decoder, Just remove it and all will be well..........
