  1. Elgar is my class 50 choice and mine too will be pulling mk2 blue grey coaches although network south east ones would be fantastic
  2. Agreed, although my 08 cost quite a bit to be chipped by TWW it is now looking like a reasonable investment This is also the reason for me not ordering a J50 yet
  3. Toying with the idea of adding the DB 66 to my large logo order. Dont really want more than one of each loco but that will probably go out of the window when the 37s arrive!! What the **** it’s only money
  4. With the greenwood kits I have made , I give the finished building (excluding roofs) a run over with grey primer to seal it, then paint the exterior walls/ window frames then glaze/ interior details and finally paint and fit roofs and final painting details When finished they can look as good as the Hornby resin offerings
  5. I have now invested in a few laser kits from Inthegreenwood laser They are probably not for beginners but they do make up into really nice buildings for tt.
  6. Another quick question, does anyone know if the non sound Class 50 comes with a speaker pre-fitted?
  7. Well who’d have thought it, something that we have been raving about finally gets the Sam nod of approval He fitted an 8pin 7000 sound decoder and stay alive into a random 040 cheap loco and loved the result. Okay he moaned about the lack of profile choices but what is a Sam review without a moan or two Maybe he is slowly coming on board with hm7000 and even tt as a option
  8. Back in 2022 I took a leap of faith and invested (financially and emotionally) in this new scale Yes choice was limited back then but now there is a decent offering from Hornby, Peco are joining the party and many artisan small volume manufacturers are providing varied accessories Can I create a world in TT ? Absolutely yes I can and that world is expanding rapidly Sorry Sam get a grip, tt is here to stay and it’s fantastic, jealousy is quite ugly
  9. I have just done my GWR mk3 test I started with power cars and one coach into and out of my siding negotiating 4 peco points in the process Then added one coach at a time until I reached 5 coaches Despite managing to lose one kinetic spring all worked ok BUT Using hunt magnetic couplings you must have at least a 2mm gap between coaches when on straight track otherwise they will foul when negotiating bends/points I guess most people buying these will have gone for the starter pack which includes couplings that are too short for mk3 coaches Hope this helps
  10. I am expecting my 4 GWR mk3s today to add to the 1 mk3 already received Am feeling a bit wary given recent coupling comments i am going straight for hunt couplings, my layout does involve ‘reversing’ out of a storage siding around 3rd radius curves so I am a bit nervous Will report later
  11. Do you know, I was sorely tempted to order another 5 mk2 coaches to go with the one mk2e that I preordered to see what it would look like, but now with that mk2e having disappeared from the catalogue and the Mk2f versions not coming for a year I think I will wait and get them from a retailer
  12. Has anyone with their ear to the ground heard anything about release dates for the Class 50 locos? My preorder list has now shrunk right down to six items so it’s a really exciting time to be tt modelling
  13. That’s good , so they do exist, I still haven’t been charged for mine yet I might have to get on to HQ
  14. It seems that blue grey mk3s are now starting to arrive, has anyone seen any GWR ones yet, perhaps they are on a later shipment
  15. Yes they are nice house models but I am trying to populate a high street with shops. looks like good old 3d pluss to the rescue
