  1. I neglected to mention that I purchased Riko's cables back when I had a 7042 powerbase and they worked perfectly for the firmware upgrade that my powerbase needed. I simply moved to the Arc Pro powerbase immediately when it became available in my area of the US a few years ago (Fall 2017?).
  2. Eddie- I think you made a mistake on the link. it is ssdc.jackaments.com. I looked at this option about 2 years ago, but I have Scalextric Arc Pro powerbase and this application is only for the (old) 7042 powerbase. For the 7042, there are a few other options for race management. Take a look at the slotraceronline or slotforum sites to see what is available and what user feedback has been on each one. I use an Arc Pro powerbase and the magic arc app through my PC.
  3. Kevin- 3 tips for you. #1. If you haven't already done so, pull the magnet from your cars. If you have decided to keep the magnet in your cars, I am afraid that my tip #2 and #3 aren't going to matter. #2. Add some lead weight to the chassis directly in front of the motor. The heavier car will roll a little further than an unweighted chassis. Without magnets, you need to add the weight for handling purposes anyway. #3. Change your gearing. For example, if your car has a stock 11/36, try changing that to a 12/36. The taller gear changes the acceleration and braking on these tiny motors. Hope that helps?
  4. Woodcote- Thanks for the encouragement and the additional ideas. I have tried a Samsung tablet, a Fire Stick, a jailbroke Firestick, Apple TV, and various other methods. I had heard about the projector method and I have also seen that $2000 digital signage TVs can handle the rotation too. Maybe I will borrow one of my kids Fire tablets and see what that does differently when linked to Fire TV. The Carrera guys make it seem so easy, but I have over 100 Scalextric, Slot.it and Pioneer digital-chipped cars for Scalextric and I am not starting over. Sounds like we have both spent far too many hours trying to figure this out. I just wish Scalextric would add an app enhancement to make this easier on the consumer. Thanks again and enjoy the weekend. Chris
  5. Woodcote- I like the portrait mode too and would love to get portrait mode to broacast to my giant portrait-mode TV display, but that isn't yet possible with the current app and lack of features/options. I am sure your I-Pad is fine for you when you are practicing/racing by yourself, but do you really ask all 6 racers to look at that same screen while they are racing? Chris
  6. Yes, but a windows-based app would be much, much easier to broadcast the arc app from a laptop to a larger screen so that 6 drivers can actually see the screen while they are racing. It is fantastic to have wireless controllers that let 6 racers spread out, but we end up having all 6 drivers standing right next to each other just to look at the arc app lap and lap times on a phone or I-Pad screen. Windows version would allow us to run this off a laptop using bluetooth and then we could project to a large screen. I have tried at least 5 different methods (minix, screen orientation, Fire OS, etc.) to get the i-pad to a larger TV and each one of them has came up short. You can check slot forum and other sources, but nobody has been able to figure this out. The portrait mode vs. landscape mode is particularly frustrating. A windows-based option would elevate the Arc Pro system to the level of graphical display that Carrera owners and Scalextric owners using the 7042 with RMS have enjoyed for years. So much promise and potential with the Arc System. The App is definately holding the system back. Chris
  7. I saw one (possibly two) arc app updates on my I-Pad earlier this week. I can't remeber the last time I saw an update, so wondering if this updated picked up multiple enhancements we have been waiting for. The narrative (what's included on this update) mentioned that Scalextric added all of the 2019 cars/tracks into the library. Has anyone noticed any other changes related to this app update? Thanks.
