  1. Very nice job. I built one of these a while ago and was impressed then.
  2. I missed this post, my apologies for such a late reply. Most of the Inpact kits have been re-released under various different lables - try doing an ebay search using 1/48 Boxkite, using also either Pyro, Lindberg or Life Like, you should get plenty of hits. Cheers Paul. I'll have a look.
  3. Just do it T2B, it's a great aircraft and a great kit. I'd love to see more on show here. I'm just doing a Henschel Hs123 in 1:72nd and 1:48th scales but might dig a Buccaneer out of my stash when they are finished? Though I have just ordered the new Airfix Wellington Gr Mk. VIII so I know that will be high on my build schedule! Oh what decisions?? I have a rule, finish one build before starting another. Well that went out the window when the Bucc' arrived. He jumped straight to the top.
  4. Nice job. This model was one of the most satisfying builds I've completed in ages. How about you PMM, how did you find your build ?
  5. Hello Mike, The issue isn't so much wing droop, as lack of dihedral (yes, sort of the same thing in a way) When I built mine, I didn't add anything extra, but did cut of the locating pins to allow me to adjust the wings. Which gave me this dihedral, it's unmeasured, but looks ok. Here you can see the gun holes on the stbd wing are a touch out of line, due to the fact I cut the pins off to allow for wing adjustment. These were just re-drilled later. /media/tinymce_upload/8ee260983ae6df9a286568dfe76406a6.JPG

  7. Nice work RR. Brilliant kit isn't it ?
  8. Well now we know the Vulcan is the flagship kit for 2020. It looks to me (from the renders) that its construction will be similar to the Bucc, and that's a good thing 😆 I agree, definitely a good thing. I've made space on the shelf already....
  9. You must, it's a really nice kit. Go for it.
  10. You've done a great job there, 1:72 as well.
  11. That's a bright little thing. I like it. I've been trying to add a bit of colour to my shelves with a few training aircraft, just to break up all the grey, green and brown camouflage.
  12. I'm not waiting for one as I got mine first time around. But I would say is just hang on, try not to pay the inflated prices some people demand. Did you see how much Vixen's were going for, when out of production ? now Airfix have released them again, much cheaper.
  13. Indeed they are. I wonder what next from Airfix after the sucess of this little gem ?
  14. Well done, nice job on the conversion. I'm a bit more lazy and will wait for Airfix to release theirs.
  15. Yes, another one of these great new tool Buccaneers. I wonder how many will make it to Telford this year ? Anyway, this popular kit has been reviewed by many here and on other forums, I think it's safe to say, the Buccaneer has been well received. Airfix, in my opinion, have produced a really nice kit here. Here's mine; /media/tinymce_upload/acbd527a403095db455aae195b3311b8.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/ac0f14e31d8dfe66cd55c52d28d56d8b.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/a9abfdd9bd53712af705ab696200ec97.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/6ac3fb3fe3bf0ba77883494bd35a7eca.JPG If you fancy one, build it, you won't be dissapointed. Colin M..
  16. Nice Ratch. But a 1:48 in this scheme, again I find my stash count going in the wrong direction !
  17. I've just masked my Bucc' canopy and yes, it's a fairly straight forward affair, until you get to the molded detail of the wiper. Best to do this bit with fresh eyes !
  18. Paul, you are indeed a font of knowledge. I have never heard of Inpact Kits so had to look them up. I'd love to get my hands on one of their Boxkite's.
  19. Indeed, the Hawker family traits are very clear to see, but also in he construction methods.
  20. There is a 1980 stamp inside the fuselage. Interesting to hear it's actually 1960's tooling. That would have been quite a kit back then, if it had been released of course.
  21. Hello, I built this vintage kit about a month ago and was quite surprised how well the build went, given the age of the kit. I don't recall any serious problems, yes there was some flash and a slightly warped fuselage to deal with, but other than that, not bad at all. /media/tinymce_upload/8665a09bb39d7b96ac7ee63ec86bf1a0.JPG /media/tinymce_upload/1d24068b16f5c312a7dc8a28b8e98911.JPG /media/tinymce_upload/d76a5386cfcb4ce93ecf67aefe77642e.JPG /media/tinymce_upload/bb7e01bef0bd56dd9bc3bcbc2c0e6793.JPG That is one giant propellor on the front. Mind you, the original aircraft is big for a biplane. Colin M,,
  22. Great job. Makes me want to go and buy one for myself.
  23. Good to see these being built. My next build might just be the Moth.
  24. An excellent job, and such a detailed well reasearched build. Great work.
