  1. Well, Guess that about just about says it all regarding the Duke of Gloucester replacement motor that I need, and just did another post on this forum asking if anyone knew of a suitable alternative motor. I have a big investment in this loco with an ESU Loksound V4 decoder and it all looks and sounds fantastic. And worked well until recently. Am I now expected to throw it in the bin because Hornby can't supply a $8.00 replacment motor? The loco is barely three years old. Truly shameful.
  2. I have a Duke of Gloucester that needs a new motor. It is a X6595 (motor with worm gear and flywheel). Hornby have said it is no longer available and I cannot find any resellers with stock. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement? I am prepared to do some mods to the D of G and fit the worm gear and flywheel of the old motor, but the motor needs to be pretty much the same size i.e it still needs to fit inside the body of the loco. Ideally I'd like to find a better quality motor.
