Why is the shipping cost to Australia so high?

I have to agree as the postage cost is simply wrong, and I cannot afford to buy the bulk of $460+ to get free postage! I like the Airfix club, but the benefits are just not there compared to the rest of the world. I doubt I will be renewing my membership at this point in time.
