  1. Airfix have told me that Humbrol 123 enamel has been discontinued, only available in acrylic as suggested. Thanks for your replies.
  2. Hi. With the recent release of the Airfix 1/48 Buccaneer and forthcoming release of the Airfix Fairey Gannet, it seems as though Humbrol have discontinued production of their Extra Dark Sea Grey, number 123, which is recommended for both of these models. Can't find it in any model shops. Does anyone know if this deletion is permanent, or know of an equivalent enamel paint? Many Thanks Keith
  3. Thanks for the warning. I am using a face mask and working with windows open just to be on the safe side!
  4. Hi Everyone. I've recently been building some model aircraft that come supplied with additional resin parts, cockpit tubs, ejection seats etc. Definitely good for detail but I seem to be spending more time sawing through the mounting blocks than building the rest of the aircraft! What am I doing wrong? I have been using razor saws and a saw attached to a modelling handle but progress is incredibly slow. Its taken me one hour to saw through the cockpit block alone, half the floor has become detached now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks CB
  5. Thanks very much for your comments, they are much appreciated.
  6. I am a totally rubbish modeller!/media/tinymce_upload/499c28c5447fb6933d5aa023dff44c7d.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/3448d1fda6a9c4a5c9124099d8fde895.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/2218c9e4ecf1dbc0318f2a1585e6efff.JPG 3 attempts at this kit and I still can't make all the pieces fit properly. I know it has a bad reputation, but ive seen what can be achieved by real modellers. Still I love them all and have learned a lot working in 1/48 scale for the first time. Airbrushing in the right hands would no doubt improve the paint finish, I struggled with the white underside on the Royal Navy version to produce an even coat. Also couldn't get the intakes to fit properly. Shaky hands dont help either. Now where on earth do I put them, out of sight I think.
  7. Thanks for your replies, they are much appreciated. I will have a go with a Humbrol aerosol paint and see how that goes.
