  1. Hi everybody, I’m new to the forum and I am sorry for asking for advice before being part of the community. I found after my father passed that he had kept all the oo kit that he dreamed of building for me as a kid (we were separated before he had chance). My little girl is 5 now and I thought it would be awesome to finish what he had collected for. I have all this track though and it won’t conduct electric. The locos I have left work if I put the transformers wires on the bogies, but not on the track. I put an ammeter on the track and even over a short distance there is nothing. I have no idea how old the track is, it would have been purchased in the 80's, some of it was new kit from some of my family but most would have been from the train shop in hebden bridge so it could be older (come on, some of you must have been there, it was a famous little shop thanks to coranation street, we live in hebden though). My question is, is there a good way to get all that track good again? I could replace it for new 00, but he bought so much, and it’s not quite the sentiment if I replace it. I’ve tried dipping it all in coke but it still won’t conduct. Thanks for any help, Phill.
