  1. On that subject, how many traction tyres should there be and on which wheels of my GWR High Speed loco?
  2. Thanks for your reply. Will try new points today anyway as well as checking loco. I am still of the opinion that the circuitry in the HM is more sensitive than The GM controller. Like comparing a 30ma RCD to a 100MA one in 240v domestic circuits.
  3. When I am using HM the Gaugemaster is off and therefore isolated from the track. There shouldnt be a problem going into a siding over points surely?
  4. My GWR High Speed Train has been rather troublesome. After I bought it it lasted two weeks before it went wrong. I sent it back to the shop where I bought it and they repaired it...a wire had come adrift. After about a week it stopped again. I phoned the shop and they told me to send it back to Hornby, which I did. When it came back from Hornby it didn't work at all. I phoned the shop where I bought it once again and they told me to send it to them and they would repair or replace it. They replaced it and its been running fine for some while now...until today when this one stopped. I shall be contacting the very obliging shop in Paignton once again tomorrow and hopefully they can help. It seems pretty poor to me to have suffered all these breakdowns in a model costing over £100, I realise that this is not a lot for a model but I would expect it to work reliably. Has anybody else had a problem with this particular model or is it just feeling sorry for its real life High Speed Trains in the last couple of days? {!}
  5. Is it possible that the HM 6000 detects a short circuit quicker than my Gaugemaster controllers? If I reverse any of my 125 trains into a siding across RH points, The HM6000 detects a fault and cuts out. With the Gaugemaster controller the same train will go straight over the points and into the siding. Could it be faulty points or just the HM being over sensitive?
  6. Thanks for that! Would one Hm6010 control four points?
  7. Received my HM 6000 today, set up was easy...everything works fine. Obviously I’m now after the HM 6010. Couple of simple questions....does the HM6010 have a connection to the track? If it does, I have two circuits...how would that work? Maybe it connects to the track via the HM6000...can’t really find any help on line. Also, how many points can you connect on one unit ? Sorry to be a bit simple but I just can’t find definite answers. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for that....that’s extremely encouraging. Being able to do this will give me a choice of controllers which will be very useful. Also, before I receive the HM 6000 I know now how I will connect it. On a slightly different matter..I have a fairly large collection of HOrnby Dublo which I run alongside my more modern HOrnby....I can’t remember offhand the current that a typical HD loco draws but it would be impressive if modern Bluetooth technology would power my HD locos all of which are approximately 60 years old! Many thanks for your input on this.
  9. @96Rob Excellent..thank you! As it is only me that runs my layout I feel that if I left the analogue controller switched off, there would be no problem. I would only use the HM6000 system or the Gaugemaster analogue system, not needing to switch from one to the other. It would be interesting to see though if it was possible to run one system and then transfer to the other one. It remains to be discovered!! Many thanks for your input.
  10. Thanks for your reply....that makes sense to extend the leads. The other thing is can I leave my existing Gaugemaster controller in place and connect the HM6000 as well? That way I could have a choice of control systems....
  11. How long are the track connecting leads on HM6000? It looks like they are permanently connected. Can you extend them? Thanks!
