Ok, so as a collector of 1978-1980 sets i have come across something i have not seen before. A wooden box edition of the 1980 500 set . I believed it to be maybe homemade and purpose built however the lid and ithe box is surrounding appears to be Scalextric branding . can anyone who actually knows tell me about this set . The track etc is all 1980 500 spec but its packaging !!??? Even the cars have a polistirine base which fits perfectly the lid and the outside of the box is black . Its branded scalextrix 500 and has 4 european flags and that is it . I have tried to upload pics but it says fole type not allowed .
