  1. Hi I've just upgraded my select controller to a gaugemaster prodigy advanced and can’t work out what’s going on with my TTS vent van. The first 4 sounds on the list work fine but can’t get any of the others to work. What’s going on. The walk around controller should mean you just press the number buttons and all the sounds work perfectly. Press numbers 5 and upwards and nothing ??? 2. Hi I'd love to convert my late 70’s R751 class 37 loco to DCC but having looked at the motor and wiring I have no idea where to start. Anyone out there in Hornby land got any suggestions. A replacement motor and or bogie ? Phil
  3. Hi im running my layout using a select controller and am looking at upgrading to the App based system to future proof my layout. ive got 7 sets of points and run up to 5 locos. am I right in saying that I’ll need an HM 6000 and 3x HM6010 units to run the point motors and locos. im a bit confused about power supply. Does the HM6000 come supplied with a power supply or do I need to get that separately? thanks phil
  4. It's a brand new loco so there shouldn't be any issues. I'll do the stall test and see where I'm at phil
  5. I've fitted a Hornby TTS sound decoder to my J36 class. It worked fine for a while but suddenly the loco wouldn't move and the sound shuts down. I took the top off the tender and noticed that the TTS chip is very hot, which I'm guessing is why it stopped working. any ideas as to the cause ? phil
  6. I've got version 2.0 so will download the addendum and have a play. many thanks youre becoming my personal problem solver ! have read the addendum and tried to adjust the volume on my wagon but can't make it happen ? ive got version 2.0 firmware on my select. When I try to enter the cv 175, I press and hold the number 1 until it flashes as per the instruction. However, when I enter the 7 and 5 the on disappears and I'm left with just the 7 and 5 on my display. is this because there is a later version of firmware or is something else happening ? phil
  7. Hi i see there has been a lot of discussion regarding how to change the volume on Hornby TTS locos and wagons. i know I have to change the value in CV178 but what is it and how do I do this with my Select controlle. 8. Does anyone in Hornby land know what's happening with the supply of certain sound decoders. I want one for a class 08 - R7146. there aren't any anywhere in the country. Is this a long standing supply issue or a covid 19 caused problem ? many thanks phil
  9. Hi mine are 3 way lights, but the principal is the same. I'll have to source some 3 way switches. Thanks
  10. Hi I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to wire up some signal lights using some RK switches (RKPDU2 to be precise) switches and using my select controller for power. I simply can't get my head around which wires go where, being new to electrification of my layout. any help greatly appreciated phil
