  1. Hi Smudge, That's interesting but also confusing. I'll have to try and clean everything again ( wheels & track ) and see if that works. Very strange.,
  2. 96RAF, yes I did follow the black cat instructions, still had the problem. Currently doing track cleaning + wheel cleaning suggested by the bee. Putting power directly to power leads on the CD motor and the lights work as they should. Cheers guys for the info...
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, most helpful and appreciated. P- Henny has got the diagnosis spot on and I was considering using a resistor. The wiring is correct on the circuit board but as stated the lights are wired to the pickups and the motor. I'll test the lights by swapping back to a ringfield motor to check if I still get EMF. Regards Frankie2
  4. Hi guys, I've swapped my ringfield motor for a 12v CD motor. I've now fitted LED headlights from Black Cat but there seems to be feedback from as when I turn power on just enough to for the lights to come on they work, white/ forwrd, Red/ reverse but when I turn the power up to get the train moving ( HST 125 ) the lights come on, forward lights on but also red lights flickering, in reverse Red lights on but white flickering. Had anybody else had these issues. Regards Paul
  5. Thanks guys for all the info. I'll hunt down rear bogie. Regards Frankie2
  6. Yes, that's what it says on the underside of the body, R070-060 on the dummy car
  7. Hi guys, forgot to mention that it's a Hornby model R070
  8. My HST has a Ringfield motor running numbers 43093 power car, 43063 dummy car. The coupling bars are not removeable but fixed to the bogies.
  9. Hi guys, I need a new rear bogie frame for the dummy car, will a frame fit from a later model i.e one with NEM couplings. The UK made hst models have longer bogie frames. Where as the China model has shorter bogie frames.. Regards Frankie2
  10. My coaches are a push fit to the body but some are riveted, I want to upgrade to hunts magnet couplings, is this possible, I will probably have to change the bogie frames but I don't know what would actually fit. Any advice please. Regards
  11. Thanks guys for the info, the video I've seen on Strathpeffer makes the conversion look a lot simpler than it actually is reading various explanations of how to go about it but I'm going to give it a go. I've ordered a 6v CD motor so will use diodes to protect the life of the motor.. regards paul
  12. Morairamike Thanks for info that will be helpful in my calculations.
  13. ColinB, I have seen these and they look great but part of my bridge will run directly above the track and there's no room to fit them as they would be to close to the track. The bridge will span nearly 4ft across my layout and have a bend towards the middle of the layout. It will be similar to a sweeping elevated motorway bridge.
