Thank you both for your added comments as all these posts give me a much better understanding of the process and it gives me confidence in modern newer metal models which I’m sure are of excellent quality using today’s standards of production.
Thanks for the reply LT&SR which is extremely informative. In your opinion is there any storage conditions and maintenance of this type of model using this material that might help reduce any potential long term effects?
Thanks for the interesting replys Taking TH’s point. Does Mazac deteriorate over time or the storage environment I wonder? BM also metal tenders seem a great idea? I know weight might be a problem but I’d take that chance.
Hi all, what is the Peco equivalent to the R8073 points, which seem more positive on their switching action? Or is there anyway to make Hornby’s a more positive action and better electrical connection?
Thanks for all you info. A lot to take in? Atom 3624, mine has the lamp bracket holes but no lamps and the side windows have holes but no wind deflectors. The only holes near the cylinders I can are one small one on the loco body each side.
