  1. John, the Matchbox kit was predated by an Italeri kit. Hasegawa released a kit in 2010, which is probably the optimum product to buy, but at a cost and it is difficult to source. I think there is a good prospect of Airfix releasing a Ju 88 at some time, the old kit has been doing the rounds since 1964. I was hoping they might have an A-1 lined up this year to coincide with the BoB anniversary, but maybe they were put off with the prospect of Revell releasing their A-1. It has to be said the Revell kits are rather good - as are the Hasegawa. There really is a great deal of potential in a new tool kit, especially if it were engineered for multiple options. Seeing as Revell did release the A-1 maybe Airfix could start with late 88/188 models and work backwards to the earlier ones?
  2. I personally would love to see the Ju-88/188 series done as I'm quite a fan of them and if the tooling is designed right, you can cover everything from the Ju-88 A bombers through the G series night fighters and the S series high speed bombers, possibly even the stretched H series as well as the 188 series which only had a different nose section, wings and tail and this would also include a number of bombers and reconnaisance aircraft. Even some more obscure models can be covered like the Ju-88 B which was the base for the 188 or the G-7 variant fitted with the 188 wings and the FuG 228 "Morgenstern" radar/antenna set and even the maritime reconnaisance aircraft with the FuG 200 "Hohentwiel" radar sets and this can include the H series with the stretched fuselage for fuel capacity. There's also the C series heavy/night fighters along with the R series (same as the C night fighters but with the BMW 801 engines instead of the Jumo 211) and even the P series with 37mm and 75mm anti-tank guns, or even the experimental 88mm gun (no joke). I think this would be a neat thing to see as it hasn't exactly been done, at least not the entire line up of Ju-88/188 variants that also don't go for silly amounts of money (i.e. Hasegawa, various resin kits and conversions or old out of production stuff). Also there is the potential for a LOT of kits out of one common mold with 10 major variants of the Ju-88 and 4 variants of the 188 not to mention the subvariants of the 88 series and the fact that a number of those were used by other axis nations which can add marking options to kits or even a seperate kit to cover them not to mentions captured ones with allied markings on them.
