  1. @Going Spare. Oh I dunno, I think my better half would agree with you. Especially when I forget to do the dishes 😂
  2. @96RAF I have received a very quick response from Simon confirming these sets will have the fans which is great 😊 Ty for that tip 👍 Feel free to lock this thread if it helps to de-clutter. Ty to everyone for your thoughts/input, and ty to Simon for responding so quickly (if you reading this 😂)
  3. @96RAF Ty bud I appreciate it 👍 @Going Spare that’s a shame ☹️ Looks like I’ll have to get the EMT , and go down the route of finding a good re-sprayer. Also think I’d have to change the lighting cluster?? I think that style cluster wasn’t introduced yet, as I can’t remember if fgw had them when they operated VP185’s in the early noughty’s . It’s so confusing 😂
  4. Or 4. Go give the pr team a kick on the.. ( seriously B u M is censored on here 😂 ) to answer our Q’s 😋 Jokes aside, it ain’t your fault bud, it’s unfair you guys have to bare the brunt of customer frustrations, but I appreciate you doing everything you can to help 👍😉
  5. @corky tell me about it. With everything that has happened over the last year from hornby I understand why there share price has dropped 21% in the last 12 months. It’s sad really as if you go back to 2007-2010 there shares were over £300 a share. Now look at it. Everything you mentioned has an effect. I mean the new class 745’s show them having a 3 pole motor 😂
  6. @VESPA it’s 50years after the original author or his/her partners/heirs/heiress’ pass away. Hence why Beethoven is not public domain. And the movie is an original piece of copyright by the studio that funded it, as its unique in comparison to the book, I would post the link to the copyright and trademark filings for you but it doesn’t appear I can post links here. I would happily send you the details if you DM me 😊 Mod note - links will post correctly if you copy the actual direct link and not an indirect link. You can also copy and paste them into say Word and change them to hyperlinks, then copy and paste back here. Mod note - there is no DM [Direct Messaging] also termed 'Private Messaging' capability on this forum.
  7. @RogerB unfortunately hornby don’t answer there social media, and the sales team on the phone ( who are lovely btw ) say they are just as frustrated and kept in the dark 😖 @Going Spare do you not think they will offer them via there spares dept? Cheers.
  8. @ColinB very true bud. It is interesting that Dapol only issued a 4% increase, and I don’t believe Bachmann will increase, if the Bachmann USA tlk is to be believed. They are owned by a multi billion dollar company so can prob absorb the costs till things settle back down. Somehow I don’t think hornby will reduce their prices even if shipping went back down to pre-pandemic levels. Personally I think it just shows it’s time to come back to the UK, or at the very least the EU. Look at Roco, they are one of the premium manufacturers in the world, with the most advanced and complicated models, yet they are cheaper than Hornby now and are made in the EU. Yes it can be expensive to move production back but with the new wage increases in China and cost of shipping for UK wages certainly even out. I think things will pay for themselves over a few years, and will certainly have more respect with the public being that it’s not made in a nation that promotes genocide and slave labour.
  9. Considering the new cig packet ( soz forum has woke word rules ) livery HST will not have the new digital fan unit, as it shows the power cars have Marston cooler units ( so no fans can be seen ) will it be sold at a reduced price?, considering it will have less features, it seems a bit unfair to charge the same as others with the new tech. Or is Hornby going to use a fan unit? ( as these power cars did use all cooler groups in this period ) meaning the picture shown is just a placeholder. Sorry to ramble but I would like to know, as I will cancel if they don’t have fans and get the EMT version and buy a body shell of the fgw and mod it. Any info would be greatly appreciated 😊
  10. So Hornby Finally announced a four car pack to go with the originally released five car 800 to make it up to a 9 car instead of the incorrect 8 with the previously released 3 car add on. Yet it seems Hornby have done it again, as after announcing the 4 car add on, they announced another run of a gwr 800 ( 802 ) this time. Yet for some unknown reason Unlike all the other class 800’s released and soon to be released, Hornby have decided to make this one and only this one a four car train pack, yet again only allowing us to make up an incorrect eight car length without purchasing multiple add-on packs. And to top it off they’re charging the same £502 they are for the other the five car train packs. The description says it’s five car yet all pictures and advertisements including the Hornby collectors club magazine say it’s a 4 car, what an earth is going on? I know Hornby is bad at marketing but geez.
  11. And considering hornby are worth £37M Studio canal €5.7B. Even if hornby were in the right, Studio canal have the financial resources to keep delaying and asking for continuances to drain hornbys bank dry before it even got to the court room. It’s a tricky one, and risky with shares down almost 8% after the range launch debacle.
  12. Hornby had the rights in 2013 for a limited run of models for that year, and chose not to renew. Only Rapido have the rights from Studio canal ( confirmed from SC’s PR dept ) oh @ JeremiahBunyan you only need to watch the model world tv show to realise how wrong you are. There are clips why Simon gets insiders to leak him info so he can decide what to make/ get out ahead of. The 91 was a prime example as it was a picture for over a year. And that 2016 meeting, they said the would consider all requests but it’s to expensive at this time. The 91’s initial artists drawing is from 2019.
  13. It’s crazy the cost of the super detailed hst has risen 234% since 2011 yet inflation for the period Dec 2011-Dec 2021 is 27%. Hornby can easily reduce their prices by 40% to be inline with retailers discounts, and other manufacturers that use the communist dreamland for manufacturing, but aren’t making the same excuses. It’s pure greed. You only need to watch episode nine of a modern world to see Simon’s thoughts on profit profit profit, and they wonder why they’re in a PR disaster right now. This really could be the end of Hornby shares aren’t looking too good, investors pay attention to what customer say even if Hornby chooses to ignore them and delete their comments and reviews
  14. @colinB And they're going up again. The LNER Azuma is £480, which is currently in stock, yet the autumn release of the same, and GWR is £501 ! It’s up almost 60% since original release. Hell the near 20yo pendolino is £301! Which should be Railroad imo.
