I’ve managed to sort it, your advice was right, the spring had gone in the point and wasn’t closing and shorting out, took it to my local model shop and got a new one. Really appreciate all the help and advice.

Thank you so much for your help, looks like getting a new l/h point then. Like I say, it did go down once, then after that it keeps cutting out.

Also the set is R1228 if that’s any help.

Hi, thanks for the swift response,the controller I’m using is the R7229, it came with the set originally, I think it’s a later set than the one in your pic. I’ve had a look to see if it’s dirt or track not fitted together, everything fine, it’s going round the oval perfect, I stop loco and change point, put some power back on red light shows on controller then cuts out. Glad I joined this community now, thanks for your help so far both of you.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve recently purchased a Hornby industrial train set, wanted to get into model trains for years, had one as a child and loved it, my grandad put everything together for me as I was young so basically a newbie, the set was second hand but in immaculate condition, I’ve set it out for a test and it goes great, until I came to change points (basic oval track with track pack a included in set) it went once down siding, then tried again and the controller cut out, every time I try it, the controller cuts out, any help would be gratefully appreciated.
