I use the cables provided for the main SSDC connection from the power base to the PC and the pit lane detector system and all work perfectly and the racing is so much better using a Race Management System. I haven't tried the Arc System as all my kit predates it

Take a close look at the flipper, I seem to remember that some can "Short" by the flipper touching another rail or the braids catching two rails at once. Try a little piece of tape on the side of the flipper tip and see if it still shorts.
