Most of the models I have built to date have been grey plastic sprues and I have used grey primer. My difficulty is only applying an initial mist coat as I cannot see how much primer I have applied until it is wet and shiny under the light. My query is would it be ok to apply a mist coat of black primer which will work fine under OD green but apply a second primer of grey for lighter-coloured models I have two high quality airbrushes and work under an LED bulb. I have no problem with spraying, just in seeing what I have done.
