  1. Thanks NTP We have followed your advice and the points now work correctly, thank you. Thanks 96RAF, I have read your suggested post, some useful information, I have passed it on to my brother. P
  2. Hi I have scanned through the general discussions part of the forum, but cannot find anything to help my brother and I. I am running Railmaster with E-link, my brother is setting up his new layout with HM-7000 system. We have been able to understand most of what we are doing, but we have a problem with Bluetooth accessories decoder. We bought two R6010 and we are using MTB MP1 slow action points motors. If you assign a port to points, you get a double tap actuation which is not enough to fully operate the motor, you have to operate the port three time to get the full movement. Can anyone help with advice please. Thanks P
  3. Yes the dialogue boxes were empty, so I started by using the value on page 37, 11.8. Thanks again for all the help.
  4. P-Henny Just tried what you said and set the time to 11.8 as laid out in the manual. The loco is now running perfectly. Thank you both for all the help you have given me. Brilliant forum Pete
  5. 96 RAF In the decoder documentation CV's 2 5 & 6 are not shown. When read on the programming track, they are also not used. P-Henny I will try what you have suggested and get back to you. Thanks both
  6. I have tried changing cv 3 & 4, they were at 15, I changed them to 10. I think this changed the acceleration and deceleration but the speed is still the same. I have tried deleting the loco and manually setting it up, as described in the link from FAQ # 4, speed is still too high. I have deleted the loco and re-installed it several times and still the speed is too high. I don't know if it matters but the TTS decoder I fitted was a class 66 type.
  7. Hi P-Henny I have printed off the link in the FAQ #4, manually adding a loco to RM and will try this later. I will let you know how I get on.
  8. Hi 96RAF The use scale speeds is checked but would that not affect both locos? Hi P-Henny When running the class 59, the acceleration is controlled, so, starting off very slowly building speed as you would expect. When I ask the loco to stop, it takes almost half of my layout (12 ft by 5 ft) to stop, so, if trying to shunt in limited space I think I would struggle to control it. Thanks Pete
  9. Hi 96RAF No they don't run at similar speeds as I said in my post, I can only run the class 59 at a speed of 10 mph but using a calculator I found on the web, this worked out at 88.6mph, if I set it any quicker I think it would come off the tracks. I can set the class B12 at 40 mph and this calculates to 45 mph, so close to the setting shown in Railmaster. I tested it on a 60" length of straight track. I only have the Elink. Both locos were tested on the same piece of track. I am not sure what you mean, (Do you have use scale speeds set in RM). I set the speed in the Locomotive Control window, where the throttle is. Sorry if I'm not clear, I'm fairly new to all this, I have only had my first loco running in the last month. Pete
  10. Hi I am running two locos using railmaster. I have fitted both with TTS sound decoders. I have fitted the class B12 with a J36 class decoder and the class 59 with a class 66 decoder, they are both set to default values. If I calculate the speeds of both locos over a 60" length of track, the class B 12 set to run at 40 mph calculates to 45 mph, so this is close. If I calculate the class 59 set to run at 10 mph over the same distance, it calculates to 88.6 mph. the locos are both Hornby railways and the decoders are Hornby. Does anybody have any ideas to help me slow the class 59 down. Thanks in advance Pete
  11. Thanks for the replies. After the windows update and the laptop not communicating with the Elink, I checked in device manager and could not see any com ports but three other devices with exclamation marks by them( problems with drivers), I was unsure what they were but eventually I removed them and reconnected the Elink, the drivers loaded up automatically but there was no Railmaster app on my desktop only the setup icon. So, I will contact Railmaster with the email address you gave me. Thanks again for the help Pete
  12. Hello all I received my elink and railmaster software and set it up, all okay. I had to wait for a sound decoder, which I have now fitted and got it working, brilliant, I was so pleased. Just before shutting down my laptop I was asked to carry out an update, which I did. The next time I switched the laptop on the Elink would not communicate with the laptop. I now know that I should have removed the drivers and reinstall them, but I did a recovery to before the update. Then I had to reinstall the software. Because it had already been activated, I had to fill in the form to get a new activation code, but the form will not recognise my password. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance Pete
  13. Hi Chris Thanks for the help. I have returned the second hand one for a full refund and have just ordered a new one from Hornby.
  14. Thanks for the replies, I feel very foolish for falling into this trap. I have been trying to buy a new eLink but with no joy. Hattons told me that they think it may have been discontinued, or maybe they meant that none are being produced at the moment. I will take your advice and get back in touch with Ebay and see if they can sort it out. Once again thanks for the advice. I will let you know how it turns out. Pete
  15. Hi I am new to model railways, just planning my first setup. I opted to go for the eLink and RailMaster kit. There doesn't seem to be much for sale but managed to buy one from Ebay, only to find that when trying to activate the software, I find its not transferable. Is there any way out of this for me, or do I have to buy RailMaster new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Pete
